Also, Doug: did your jacket stretch (a lot/ at all)?.. Cause mine's perfect as it is, and I wanna keep it that way without having to hotsoak it in a couple of weeks/ months…

Yeah, the whole reason why I decided to machine wash it was 1. it was getting grody and 2. it does stretch after awhile. Now that I know, I would just cold soak it after awhile

Anybody got any recommendations how to overdye it? Since it's looking kinda weird now, I might just try that

          Washing Machine = DEATH!

I've thrown plenty of denim in my washing machine, my 634SRs had a couple of weird fades after the machine but it was nothing major like this

Maybe it's because of the stretch!.. Like: it sets creases and fades in the beginning when it's really tight, then it stretches and the fading patrons change and move over a bit…

No experience with overdying items, hope someone can help you out though!..

Doug, Any possibility of seeing some flicks of the damage?

It's not because of the stretch. It's only on the left side of the jacket. The right side looks fine

I feel you. Sorry brotha that looks like no fun at all. I would try hectic's recommendation on trying to dye it. I do not have much experience with this either but I am sure someone on here is (Tfar)…

Maybe check out Dharma Trading Co. for dye info?

I have had similar problems with the 634SR's and the SEXIH07BK's. I will probably try to airbrush the SR's out. Kind of cheesy, but I think it will work. Temporarily, I've hit the SR's up with some Chartpak Ad makers to knock the really light stuff down so it's not super-obvious. I'm not expecting anyone to be able to get a really macro view of them, so I'm not too concerned about its hokeyness. I will probably re-dye the BK's, but I'm trying to find a REALLY permanent black.

Not sure how much effort you want to put into it, but I'd try to get ahold of a proper theatrical costumer.  They might have better ideas on how to re-finish it.

Yeah that doesn't look too good… Missed the one-sided part, can't indeed be caused because of some earlier stretching.

I'd do a red dye on this, see what gives... Have fun with it... Go crazy... Red'd go well with it.

DougNg, OK…I'm in the minority here. I'm sure you're upset because of the $$ you spent. But I kinda like the fades...gives the jacket character. I'd just leave it as is and wear it. I don't think it looks bad at all. Just MHO.

Nah it doesn't look bad at all in my opinion either, but the fades don't make much sense, is all.

Here's another idea – send it back to Haraki-San. Ask Giles how to do it. Seriously, one would expect that this shit doesn't happen on a $400++ jacket. I'm certain Haraki-San can fix it, but it ain't cheap to ship shit to Japan either.

Ever see the character Two Face from the Batman movies? It looks like that. I'll take a pic of the whole thing when I get back from the gym. It just looks really bizarre right now

I'm actually more pissed at myself because it was a coat that took FOREVER to break in to the way I liked it. I should have known better to toss it in the washing machine like that, especially after I got a couple weird fades on my 634SR in the machine.

Ohh….Oops. I hear ya buddy. Well, I guess we've all learned a lesson at your expense. But to be honest, I've thrown all my IH shit in the washing machine and never had  a problem...of course I don't own cotton duck. Maybe you shouldn't do that with cotton duck.

There you go. Who knows, DougNg, after all that spit, blood and dirt…that jacket just may emerge as one hell of an evo trick...a work of art !
