Should a cobbler be able to resole and shape my RW 1914 to the sole configuration displayed on the whites boots? I have been meaning to go about this for a while but I have been a little weary of putting my boots in someone else's hands.

Hey all, had a question on some 1907's I wanted to put to you. I wear 10.5 in most sneakers and had a pair of Georgia boots in 10.5 that fit very well. I know most size down a half with other RW moc's but read plenty of recommendations about the 1907 to go tts. Have tries on 875's in 10 and they felt right but… After getting a pair of 1907's in 10.5 I'm struck with how snug they are. Length seems perfect, width is snug but I imagine that loosens with break in. What gives me pause is that even with the thin (but nice) leather insole provided my toes rub up on the underside of the toe box. I've read these guys can have a brutal break in and I will suffer through it, just wanted to ask while I could still return them. Forum peeps who have had these (and you all really seem to like them), snug and lil pain at first will equal comfy great fit eventually? Thanks!

Mine were snug and stiff at first but broke in fine, I took a half size smaller in these. I wear a 7 1/2 and the 7's
            in these were perfect.
I also wear regular socks with them as well, not boot socks. If they feel too small go a half size larger and see
            how that works. 😉

Pretty much the same experiance here as BH, snug and tight at first but now very comfortable. I usually take a UK9 but went for an 8.5 in these,I started with thin socks, got thicker and thicker until I can now wear quite heavy boot socks no problem.

I always wear a EU 42,5. I bought my RW´s in size EU 41,5 D, still a little snug, but super comfy!!!

I'd try Red Wing Amsterdam. They sometimes have Japanese exclusives, and the European HQ for Red Wing is in the centre of Amsterdam, so it would strike me as the obvious starting point.

I've just got my first pair of Red Wings, the Beckman in dark cherry (style 9011). I'm thinking of using black polish on them, which will eventually darken the boot to a deep burgundy colour. I've seen a pair of Foster and Son boots done that way and they looked fantastic.

And someone bought them whilst my proxy had made an offer. Should've bought at full price…

So yeah: if anyone knows where I can still buy a pair of these (3142)...  😞

In the meantime I'll get a pair of 3143s if all goes well...

RW chukkas are probably the best shoes in the world if you can get them for cheap… 75 € 3141s:

I am awaiting their return from the cobbler!!

Discussed the work needed with owner of the shop and he decided it wouldn't be too difficult at all.

He is going to build up the heel with leather then sand down all the leather together to get it smooth and consistent, re-shape the heel into a cuban heel, add a vibram heel block and replace front half with a new vibram sole to match existing.
