      Hey Guys,

Here is a watch strap I made for a friend.  It’s made from the same hide that a friend gave me from his gator kill back in the summer.  This one turned out great and my friend is very pleased with the end result, which is all I could ask for!  The only thing that was tough/hard with this build was the thread – it’s not the usual diameter that I use, so I had to double it so the stitching would look right.  Hand stitching with 2 times the usual amount of thread was a pain!

        Hey Guys,

Here is my latest Field Notes cover.  This one is constructed with dyed 4-5 oz. veg tan leather with 4-5 oz. veg tan horse hide pockets.  The black stitching is hard to see, but it creates a subtle look that’s very “Darth”!

Made this one for my IH-homie, natehate.  Nothing fancy, just raw veg tan leather, brass buckle and Chicago screws, but that’s a good thing!

Just finished the exterior layers last night.  This is now complete.  Colored pencil, oil pastel on paper:

If photos are acceptable, I can get that done with the next piece I'll be finishing in a week or two, I lack video capabilities unfortunately.

I've been working/writing on this piece of paper off and on for three years, lots of memories attached to it.  Nice to see it completed, finally.  Thanks for the interest my fellow Craftsman!  That natural belt you made nate looks indestructible  😘

a few weeks ago a forum member, mr. chuckdenim, asked me to make him a jacket of a sweet (think 14-15oz) japanese selvage denim that he get from a local jeans maker.
well, I can't say no because I like the challenge…will my old single needle machine do it?
design should be something like a type III.
                              freehand sketch of the design:

worked out a rough cut with the thought that length should be a bit longer than a normal type III.

so I began working on the front part, the face of the jacket…

building the selvage inside chest pockets:

having so much fun on this project, I did a little personalization on the inside of the chest pockets…

thanks for looking and stay tuned..

only one ordinary old machine, it is from fifties, got it for a little money from an old lady:

than sewing parts of the back part together and attaching it to the front parts.
it looks nearly finished but the sleeves missing. would also be cool as a vest.. :).
                                            looking this way:

makin a leather patch, cut the one piece collar and push it on.
it looks nearly finished but the sleeves missing. would also be cool as a vest.. :).

I usually working in the late evening hours, so there is a lack of photos doing the sleeves and attaching them to the body.
than have to sew all that shit together.
very last step is to cut selvage waistband and cuffs.

to finish the jacket it needs only a few buttonholes and buttons….
