I have the 1907's and love them, looking forward to your choice JCM 🙂

Great amp head btw, I have one from 1987 running EL34's… 😉

      Thanks 🙂
I have the 2204, the 50 watt edition, from 1982. 30 Years old and still so fucking loud and awesome!!! He had some modifications, but the guy at the local guitar-workshop did a great job and now it´s in his originally condition with new tubes! Of course he runs with EL34 and 12AX7 Tubes 🙂
But that do not help me with my choice between 875/1907 haha

Oh yeah, 12AX7's and EL34's are an absolute! Old Marshall's are the best. 😉

Try on both pairs of RW's and see which pair feels best, I did that and went with the 1907's because I liked
        the leather insole liners.

nice JCM, congrats. for colder months you may put in a nice lambwool-insole keeping your feet warm; I do that as well on my 875's and is supercomfortable 🙂 have fun with your first ones and enjoy the break-in time, afterwards they're getting really really soft

                    Cheers,
                    David

@JCM:Great choice. You wouldn't regret. Take awhile to break in, after which I hoped you will enjoy it! Here is mine just roughly over 1 year.

Did a clean up and applied Obenauf's LP on 875 today.

Should a cobbler be able to resole and shape my RW 1914 to the sole configuration displayed on the whites boots? I have been meaning to go about this for a while but I have been a little weary of putting my boots in someone else's hands.

Hey all, had a question on some 1907's I wanted to put to you. I wear 10.5 in most sneakers and had a pair of Georgia boots in 10.5 that fit very well. I know most size down a half with other RW moc's but read plenty of recommendations about the 1907 to go tts. Have tries on 875's in 10 and they felt right but… After getting a pair of 1907's in 10.5 I'm struck with how snug they are. Length seems perfect, width is snug but I imagine that loosens with break in. What gives me pause is that even with the thin (but nice) leather insole provided my toes rub up on the underside of the toe box. I've read these guys can have a brutal break in and I will suffer through it, just wanted to ask while I could still return them. Forum peeps who have had these (and you all really seem to like them), snug and lil pain at first will equal comfy great fit eventually? Thanks!

Mine were snug and stiff at first but broke in fine, I took a half size smaller in these. I wear a 7 1/2 and the 7's
                                in these were perfect.
I also wear regular socks with them as well, not boot socks. If they feel too small go a half size larger and see
                                how that works. 😉

Pretty much the same experiance here as BH, snug and tight at first but now very comfortable. I usually take a UK9 but went for an 8.5 in these,I started with thin socks, got thicker and thicker until I can now wear quite heavy boot socks no problem.

I always wear a EU 42,5. I bought my RW´s in size EU 41,5 D, still a little snug, but super comfy!!!

I'd try Red Wing Amsterdam. They sometimes have Japanese exclusives, and the European HQ for Red Wing is in the centre of Amsterdam, so it would strike me as the obvious starting point.

I've just got my first pair of Red Wings, the Beckman in dark cherry (style 9011). I'm thinking of using black polish on them, which will eventually darken the boot to a deep burgundy colour. I've seen a pair of Foster and Son boots done that way and they looked fantastic.
