      Mission Workshop look great, thanks.

Anytime.  I've got a Vandal backpack and absolutely love it.  Been contemplating one of their messengers for a while now…

Similar style to the Mission Workshop bag would be Timbuk2.  Mine is going on 13 years old with near daily use.  Still going strong.  And the customization options if you choose to build your own are extensive.

I had a Timbuk2 as my go to back for around 5 years.  Never had any problems with it, aside from it not being waterproof (the reason I upgraded).

Having said that, my Mission Workshop bag is definitely a level above what Timbuk2 has to offer.  The zippers, other hardware, and materials are all an improvement from the bag I had…

Got the Mission Workshop Monty messenger. Recommended. I'll do an EDC pic when I have a minute.

              Thing is fucking bullet proof.

I was in Condor Cycles in London this evening (contemplating a Pista build), and whilst there I had a play with a Mission Workshop Rambler - very well made piece of kit, probably bomb proof, but I'm not sure I could justify the price.

A mate of mine has the Rambler. Bombproof it is. Really lovely piece.

Indeed, and given how wet it was on my evening commute on Friday, I'm now in real need of a waterproof rucksack, since my current one no longer is 😞

Needs to be able to swallow a laptop, change of clothes and a pair of shoes, be comfortable, and totally waterproof. The shortlist at the moment is:-

                          1. Kriega R35
                          2. MissionWorkshop Rambler

Any other suggestions would be welcome 🙂

A goruck bag would fit the bill well, they have several sizes I'm sure one would work out well, great for carrying a laptop, ultra tough, I don't know I'd characterize them as completely waterproof but for all intents and purposes they are, unless you're gonna submerge them. I love mine and they're made by good people

Timbuk2 solid bag. Been cycling with it all weather (including in flooding weather), and not a drop of water inside. Just pick the waterproof textures when building the customs.

I've got a Timbuk2, but recently switched back to a rucksack, and tbh I prefer it, more comfortable.

I've got one of Scott's early messenger bags (http://www.blackrainbowproject.co.uk/) and it's a fucking beast. I know he's attempting to ramp up production a bit now he's moved to new premises and I seem to remember him talking about a backpack.

Has anyone in the UK bought a Goruck recently?  Any hints for navigating the tax/handling charges which will hit?  No problem paying for the bag but I have real beef with the ridiculous duty costs.  (Yes I've already mailed Goruck themselves and they have no strategy they can offer…)
