Dchill, I totally respect your opinion but I don't see how it makes a difference in remembering to close your fly whether you have zipper or buttons. One could even make an argument that since people are lazy (I'm the king of lazy, unfortunately) they might rather "forget" to button up than to zip up.

The reason 501s have buttons is that, if I'm not mistaken, zippers didn't exist back then. I think they only started to be really common after WWII.

As I said, I've got no real preference and my jeans are split 50/50. But if somebody asked me to decide for all eternity between buttons and zip, I'd go with the zip.

I also think the Talon zips used in IH jeans are classy in their own right. It's what all the good vintage jeans used.

First, I think if you're a big enough idiot to get your junk hung up in your zipper, its for the best that you just lose that body part altogether and never reproduce. Seriously, if that happens, just go ahead and get yourself out of the gene pool

Second, I've had the stiffness of the denim unbutton a fly before while squatting or whatever

Third, the historical correctness of the button fly means little to me since if I were a real stickler for details, I would go for a denim weight that's about ten ounces lighter. That's what the 501s that originally had the button fly had in denim weight

For me, its all about personal preference. No need to rationalize Coke vs Pepsi

I know violence is not the answer, I got it wrong on purpose

Wow! That's even more radical than what I said about better not driving a car or handling a knife.

I once read a forum member signature and it said something to the likes of: "America could easily get rid of its problem by just taking the warning stickers off the products. " Very mean.

Imagine a warning sticker on every pair of pants with a zipper. Warning: Zipping up your genitals can create intense pain and bleeding as well as emotional trauma! LOL!

Friend of mine gets real bad migraine attacks.

Does anyone suffer migraines here? Any tips of good meds/tactics for pain reduction?

Thanks, Dchill, my mate takes Maxalt but says that it makes him really uncomfortable (physically), he has been through a fair few differnet prescription meds so is now looking for more leftfield remedies. Thanks for the reply though.

It cures everything from insomnia to back-ache to stomach-aches to depression to allergies to sinuses to you-name-it…don't know for sure but it may even help with migraines. I'm a hard-core yoga queen...been at it 10 solid years, 6 days a week, 2 hours a day.
