Hello to everyone. Hopefully this is the right forum but I am new to the whole Japanese sizing thing and want to make sure I get this right.
I have a RRL oxford shirt in medium (which I'm told runs a little small due to Japanese sizing). This shirt fits perfectly, it is fitted just like I like. I am looking at the sizing chart and just want to make sure that a medium in this case means a medium in normal Japanese/Iron Heart flannels. I noticed that the sizing for these new flannels runs all the way up XXL. Basically, I just want to make sure that a medium doesn't mean small, and a small means extra small. Sorry if that is confusing at all, lol, but I appreciate any help I can get.
Not sure if this will help but I am about 5'11" 165lbs, athletically built/proportionate.
Thanks again and I look forward to purchasing my first Iron Heart flannel!

I always measure a shirt that I like the fit of and then try to match that…

Thanks for the advice guys. Based off of the measurements I took of my RRL shirt that fits perfectly I'm leaning towards the medium. The sleeve length is the only thing that concerns me a little.
I've noticed that some of the measurements from this site don't match what self edge has on their site, ie. the heavy winter flannel. If I were to go off of their medium measurements, then I'm golden. I'd rather have it be a little small than a little big so I'll probably go with my gut and choose the medium. Enough with the rambling and thanks again.
The only other "Japanese" sized shirt I have is a SuperDry shirt, which is a large and is just a little too big.

They are different shirts. Compare your measurements to those of this website's webstore. Giles (or Mrs. P) did the measurements and you can hold those to be spot on.
