@simon626:
she's quite slim, not much hip flare….
and her derriere is comparable to mine...except smaller and on a girl frame...
She's definitely not one of those child bearing hips girls.
OK, then there is a good chance with measuring. Still, on a very petite derriere stuff like the pocket position and the thigh diameter right below crotch level are super important. Internet jeans buying for women is just not a good idea unless you are adventurous or really know what looks how on you. The young lady needs an expert and you can generously offer your advice and opinion (and compliments).

So where will the keys hang? On the outside of the pants? I did that with a carabiner when I was 12 (25 years ago). It was hip then and the noise didn't bother me. I also didn't have a lot of keys. Is it in again now?
For the sake of decency and safety I would not have my keys dangling around in the open. Maybe I'm overly cautious. Are the lanyards long enough that the lanyard will follow the key into a front pocket?

@simon626:
i think people like zippers because they hate buttons haha. Buttons take individual effort for each one, whereas the zipper is one motion.
That said, i never want to own jeans with zippers every again. I done have enough of it already. I'm sick an' tired of it.
ok, by this understanding or reason being one of the (probable)many reasons that someone would like zippers as opposed to buttons, does it not still take effort to unzip? i really do not feel that people have devolved to that level of laziness, but it still very much fascinates me.
OK, here is one logical reason and argument that someone can make for liking zippers, and its that with a zip fly, you dont need to unbottom the top button to pee; that you can zip and spray. but i still dont think this is a very big convenience. i dunno.
Thanks for chiming in Sizzzimon.

I never undo the top bottom.
Opening is equally easy on both. When the jeans are well worn in I can just rip the three buttons open in a half a second. Kind of a manly motion. LOL!
Closing, the zipper clearly wins. People who get the zizi caught in the zipper are just plain left-handed. That NEVER happened to me and I'm not gifted with extraordinary dexterity. If that happens to you, you shouldn't drive a car and stay away from knives.
Comfort. I find zippers more comfortable. Subjective, of course.
Style. Buttons are kinda cool and classic. So I guess buttons win.
Look. Zippers make for a slightly flatter front. This will give more relief if you know what I mean.
Repair. Military trousers were traditionally made only with buttons. When your zipper breaks you are SOL. When a single button breaks you can still close the others and it is also possible to replace a sewn button (not a riveted jeans button) in the field. Try that with a zipper.
Cost. Buttons are in principle cheaper to buy for the mfr. (I know there are super expensive buttons but we are talking in principle.) BUT zippers are cheaper to install. There is less labour and less material involved with a zipper. If a single person is making the closure of a pair of pants the cutting of the parts, button holes and button attaching will take probably two or three times as long as the zipper procedures.
Probably half of my jeans are zippers, half buttons.
I wasn't upset at all that I didn't get a 9634 with buttons anymore, for example.
Now, we don't have enough women on this forum (there are never enough women), but it would be interesting what they think of zipper versus buttons. They obviously don't have the "zipped in" risk. But what do they like better if they have to open a pair of jeans or if they are pressed against it? I have to my great dismay hurt women with buttons. So zippers are preferable in my eyes for this kind of close encounter.
