Seul, how do you like the Sunspell polos so far? Washed them already? If so, how did they come out.

Haven't washed them yet, first day I wear one of them. Like 'm a lot, nice fabric.

Yup! Looking good. Give them a good coating of shoe polish though. It will make the color come out even better. I'd use something nice'n'greasy with bees wax or lanolin for extra waterproofing. Don't forget the welt, of course.

I think they came with a little tub of mink oil, I'll have a look in the cupboard.

Mink oil will do nicely. Give them a good cleaning with just water beforehand. Repeat every three to six months or so. The mink oil will darken them a little. Shoe polish won't usually darken the leather permanently.

Seul, yes, the fabric and color look very nice. Might be a good alternative to my Smedleys for when I can't stitch them up anymore. That's why I'm so interested in your review once you have them a while.

That works. I got time. I have half a dozen Smedleys in the closet that need some mending under the arms. I know how to do it but it's an activity I thoroughly loathe. LOL! My only RL polo I ever had is holding up much better than the Smedleys. It's 18 years old now and I still wear it around the house. Smedleys are so fine they have a life span of 5-8 years with me and they need some mending usually after only one or two years.

Here's me trying in vain to grab the collars of two very fast dogs today. A colleague and I were going for a stroll on our corporate campus and I ran into these two dogs…I was trying to catch them but they proved to be elusive -- which is surprising because most dogs LOVE me and typically gallop on over, smiling, drooling full-speed toward me (often knocking me down on my ass). These two Vizlas wanted me to chase them though….

yeah, no kidding…! being chased down by two drug dealers' pit bulls from east oakland would not be fun. I don't want to stereotype though -- I've never met a mean pit bull personally -- the ones I meet are adorable and sweet. I always think, where there's a mean dog, there's a meaner person behind that dog --  the person made that dog mean, because trust me, "being mean and nasty" doesn't come naturally to dogs.
