Russell Moccasin
-
here goes:
PH Style boot made from red/brown weathertuff leather with brown canvas quarters. Oak leather midsole, white rubber liner with vibram 2060 sole, cost was between a IHSH-62 & a IHSH-61. i know a lot of folks are into heavy for what ever reason, but i think these are the lightest & best made boots i have ever seen
-
dang, those are nice. did you buy off rack or have them made up? Not sure I could manage Russell's built time, I read somewhere that it is horrendously long
-
sorry for the delay (spacegnome); i bought off the rack. i think for the price & quality of their goods they are more than worth the wait (if i were to ever go that route) my only problem is visualizing the make-ups. i'll be the first to admit how spoiled i am with mass produced goods . . . for a touch of that old school quality & aesthetic sometimes we should wait & plan
-
^ Not sure if that's because of Dubya or the heartbreaking pictures of men with the elephants they've killed but yeah…
-
Super comfortable and super light.

No, but a couple were moved to the fishing thread in the Sport section.

South 40 Birdshooter sz8.5D w/Kletterlift sole and back zipper
-
^^ Wow, very nice! What was the turn around time? The back zipper is a deal killer for me, but the kletterlift sole on a pair of Russell's is exciting.
-
I think 20-24 weeks. But I got these used.
I love the zippers. I have wide feet and sometimes the gusset isn't large enough for me to fit it in. So having the zipper adds some needed room for that.
