Just picked up a pair of the trail shoes in brown from Independence in Chicago. These shoes are amazing. I put them on and proceeded to walk all over Chicago in comfort. The leather is rediculous. I almost want to roast some potatoes and greens and pour some sauce all over the leather it's so aromatic and oily. Originally was going to go for the navy cxl, but I figured the brown would be more suitable for my needs. One of the guys at Independence had a well worn pair of the navy and they almost had an indigo denim transformation going on.. The navy was starting to turn a teal color in places of wear. Beautiful.

ugggh, im tempted, but I have a feeling that this is a brand where I am between sizes, as my size 10's are borderline too big. Am considering the 9.5, but no returns on sale items means it would be a $200 crap shoot. I should have just stuck to my guns in the beginning and went for the Bakers oxfords….

Definitely size down a half size as the leather stretches like crazy. Trust me, I went with a US11 and wish I had done a US10.5. Get the US9.5 and you will be happy. $200 is not much for the craftsmanship and materials used. They will outlast the $200 you pay.

Hmmmmm, thank you sir! Looks like my pair will be getting a much needed dip in the tub this evening. Thanks brotha. Then I may send them back to Chicago for a full reworking.
