Random Announcements

Yeah, as someone once said, "There's no there, there." To make it worse, my wife had been there a few times for her job, so she was even more resistant. Hard to sell her on the place when she knows from personal experience that it isn't interesting.

I'm looking forward to October in NYC more than Christmas
Only problem being that I have 5 days there, and 10 days worth of activities I NEED to do
-
Just don't sleep :).
-
I will be bringing a hyperactive 6 year old, he's like a walking alarm clock.
I just hope he doesn't carry on his tradition for saying the most inappropriate things to people he meets, such as….
Old Woman - "how beautiful, my son used to have lovely hair just like yours"
Tommy - " Is he dead?"
-
The worst one he ever said was when we were in Singapore. To give you some background I was buying loads of the Japanese sports drink "Pocari Sweat" while we were there, Tom couldn't grasp why it was called sweat so I just said to call it Daddies juice (big mistake). Anyway, when we visited Singapore zoo we bought him this weird Elephant shaped cup that he wanted (another big mistake). So, after a trip to Sentosa we were on our way back to the hotel when the following conversation happened.
Me - What shall we do now Tommy?
Tommy - Go back to Tommys room for an elephant cup of daddy juice.
Pam - (between tears of laughter) You're so going to hell.
-
Or good jeans

Slightly off topic, but will you be hitting NYC Rocket? Would be good to catch up man.
-
Would love to see you there dude

Is it possible to go off topic in the Random Announcements thread? Unless the emphasis is on the "Announcements" portion of the title, rather than the "Random" portion. Then I guess Random Questions is the better place…
Oh, and Mega- Tommy sounds even cooler after those stories. Calling Pokari Sweat (love that stuff) " Daddy Juice" probably was a bad call though.;)
Forgot to add- Yeah, we're going to be there, Rocket. In fact, my in-laws are going to come to NYC, too. I doubt they'll show for anything IH related, but Julie and I will be able dump the kids on them and stay out past 8pm.

Thanks Chris, I'm just dreading what he's going to say at the IH Party
He does a really strange "Brooklyn" accent when he's playing with his Batman toys….I just hope he doesn't start talking to people in it, as I'm sure they will think he's taking the piss :-\
I tried the in-laws trick too, did the full NYC sales pitch on my mother in law, but apparently she claims that big cities aren't for her.
-
I didn't even know about the in-laws until my wife told me they decided to come. Apparently the pitch went something like this:
Julie - We're going to NYC in October so Chris can hang out with his 'friends' that he met on the Internet.
Julie's mom - When are you going? We like NYC. We can go at the same time, that way you can go shopping with me while Chris is doing… what will he be doing, anyway?
