Tis a good feeling though…Crashing in Gatwick tonight, and then the WT's are headed to Barcelona bright and early, and then Madrid the day after

As a heads up, there's a good chance this thread won't see much action from me till I get back home on the 29/30th. Not sure what my internet situation will be like till then, but rest assured any and all shenanigans will be documented…

Definitely had fun in Barcelona. My wallet came out unscathed, unfortunately I arrived only to find out my friend had hers lifted a day earlier.
Spent the day at the beach, grabbed some great seafood for dinner, and then had a night out on the town celebrating my friends birthday.

After a very light night in Madrid, we made our way on to Madrid. Barcelona was fun and all, but based solely on first impressions I like Madrid a whole lot more. Definitely going to start looking at grad schools in the area…
Stopped by the royal palace
Enjoyed a stroll through the gardens
Really wanted to see the Temple de Debood, but the exhibits inside it are closed on Mondays. Either way, seeing some Ancient Egyptian architecture was still pretty awesome…
Couldn't help but enjoy an afternoon read and nap out on the terrace of the hostel I was staying at…
Promptly made friends with this little guy too…
and on that note, this trip is winding down to an end. Off to the airport tomorrow morning to make my way back to Michigan.

This is my ever so humble abode. Definitely one of the cheapest housing options here in East Lansing.As usual during the summer months I'm not home for long. Taking off later this afternoon to go visit a friend in Ann Arbor for a day or two…

I wonder how many WT participants are cat lovers? I have to scheme somehow to plan a cat pic for whenever it will be my leg, somehow….. tricky, because I don't own one, and all cat occasions tend to be accidental. But it looks as if I'll have plenty of time to think about this.....
Incidentally Barcelona: I used to go there twice a year for the "bread and butter" trade show, and never was pick-pocketed. It is known it sadly happens a lot there, but I think with reasonable caution it also CAN be avoided.

How about that missing WT participant planning a visit to Berlin at that time? Supposedly we're considered a cool destination at present, so give this some thought. I absolutely dig personal hand-overs, you know…...

Was planning to grab a bunch of pictures and show you guys around Ann Arbor, about an hour east from where I live, but I forgot to charge my phone after getting off the plane haha.
Did get this one of my roommate making preparations for the evening though…
As for the jeans, how do I put this… They fekkin rock! They are easily the most comfortable jeans I've ever worn. They've convinced me my next denim purchase is gonna be 21oz...

After one night home it's work, and then off to Kalamazoo for the weekend to visit friends and go to a local art festival.

Ann Arbor? I have a bunch of family there I have never ever seen (Great-grandfather's brother emigrated to Michigan from Belgium in the late 1920's), would love to see pics…

That's awesome, Ann Arbor is a great city and very picturesque imo. I may not make it out again before the end of my leg, but next time I'm out there I'll be sure to grab a whole bunch of picture for you!
