In January when I went Pike fishing, I spied a shoal of bait fish fry (probably Roach, Rudd, Dace etc).  I scooped some of them up in my net and stuck them in the aerator.  Popped them in the pond when I got home.  Despite the prophecy of my optimistic fishing buddy. "well they're as good as feckin dead", I saw them taking flies off the surface of the water last night.  I am now going out to give them a decent square meal of miniature pellets…..
