Mine has about equal wear to that. Have had mine since late October 09. So three months. Total wears perhaps 25-30. One hand wash in bath tub. Line dry.

Giles, considering that a W30 in 634S is too big on me, and Haraki says that the jeans should shrink to tag size….what size would you recommend I get in the 634SR, should I decide to try them out ? I'm thinking a W29 ?

Giles, it's interesting – how come you have "Japanese Lengths" (***) in your 634SR for W28 & W30 but not for W29 ? If I"m not mistaken, the "Japanese Length" version starts at inseam 35 inches and shrinks to inseam 33, correct ?

Shub,  I do, the *** means ONLY japanese length left, so in 29 I have =both versions.  Yes, Japanese ends up at about 33 in length. G

So, G….which size would I need -- a W29 or a W30 ? I might just order those fuckers (in a Japanese length) from you one day soon. If I get the *** (Japanese), I wouldn't even need length alteration...I could just wear them cuffed. If they shrink to tag size, a W29 would be OK, right ? What's your advice ? Do you think I could ever make those work boyfriend style ?

Shub, order exactly the same tag size as you would with a 634S.  Everyone of my customers who has both, has the same tagsize.  I think they'd look pretty hip boyfriend style, but you'd be carrying a lot of weight around with you  🙂

Hmmmm….that would be a W29 then. I like the 634S in a W29. As for carrying around a lot of weight -- um...don't I kinda do that already, with the Iron Heart brand ???? But yea, I know -- these 634SR are an order of magnitude more insane than Iron Heart normal. Thanks for the advice G. I think I'm gonna go for it...and soon. Keep an eye on your inbox !

OK, I definitely will succumb G. Say in mid-Feb ? In that case, I'll have them hemmed in Hachioji to Inseam 34, that way they'll be L32 when I get em shrunk…which would be perfect. I do boyfriend style cuffed. Stay tuned.

Giles…I misspoke. Try more like mid-March/mid-April. Let me chew on it til then. I need another pair of jeans like I need a fuckin' hole in the head.

I was perplexed by this fade too when it first started showing up. It hapens, I think, when I sit cross-legged on the floor which I do quite a bit. The jeans aren't very snug on me and they make the strangest crease when I sit on the floor. I teach elementary school and these are my everyday work jeans.

That is super cool. I propose we call the fade that xallanx has "invented" the LOTUS FADE! What do you think? Very Japanese, no?

Shuba, what does boyfriend style mean? I have always wondered.

Till, a picture is worth a thousand words. I think Victoria Beckham rocks it best. My W30 IH 634S and  IH 1634 fit me very similarly to how these fit Victoria Beckham :

                            http://www.zimbio.com/Victoria+Beckham/articles/1172/Victoria+Beckham+wears+Prps+Boyfriend+Jeans

I imagine that a pair of 634SR would best be worn boyfriend style, on me. The idea is that a woman is wearing her boyfriend's jeans.

Ah, thanks for that! So basically it means she is wearing jeans that are at least two sizes too large in the waist and rear, possibly with big cuffs because they would also be too long by probably four inches.

Honestly, not sure if I'm digging it. If she wears my shirt with nothing under it. Nice. I can take that. But my jeans? And if the actual matter of affection becomes nothing but an empty style… Bof, as the French say.

Why wouldn't you wear the SR just fitting? It's not that they are super baggy. And women have larger thighs and butts in proportion anyway. You might need to cinch a bit in the waist but that is something I actually like to see.

I would love that Till (to wear the SR just fitting) – if it's possible. But everyone on this forum calls them a bit baggy !

not really ..I decide mostly on the thigh measurements….if they are too loose around the leg - it doesn't even make for a good "boyfriend" style...whilst a slim leg on a jean that's 1 or 2 sizes too big in the waist makes for a good antifit. Sounds weird - but that's my philosophy....besides - I am not really a heavy weight junky when it comes to denim. I love a perfect 14 or 17 oz denim - especially in the summer - so 23 oz is a no go for me...

My mom said "No Thanks" to them so I guess I'm stuck with them – I wasn't gonna sell them to my own Mom, I offered them to her for FREE ! They do look pretty cute on me, though.  I'll post a pic up soon...
