White's Boots
-
No problem man, they were $304.95, plus $57 shipping.

Your spec was right, apart from they are CXL. The quality is spot on, there was one surface blemish on the leather, but it polished right out, difficult to compare to SD's as they're a totally different animal. They are the Bakers Oxford, by Whites Boots, but they arrived in a Hathorn box, so…..I dunno. :-\
Yeah I really don't understand why there are so many names. It seems as though the "Bakers Oxfords" $320 ( http://www.bakershoe.com/shop-by-brand.cfm/brand/bakers-boots/product/bakers-oxford/ ) have more options than the "Baker's Oxford by White's Boots" $305 ( http://www.bakershoe.com/shop-by-brand.cfm/brand/whites-boots/product/bakers-oxford-by-whites-boots/ ) but I'd assume they're made by White's?
Regular "Bakers Oxfords" have more overall options, but the "Bakers Oxfords by Whites" have more leather options. I think I'm just gonna have to give them a call.

How's the CXL Mega? Can you poke a pinkie through it?
The CXL has been the biggest surprise Hec, it's thick as wood and feels very tough. I think the complaint has been that it marks and scratches easier than dress leather, but I haven't bought these to wear with a suit, or for weddings, funerals and bar mitzvah's. They are definitely for work, play, and general life, they're kinda like adult sneakers
-
Shane, I think that would probably be best. Kyle is a good and knowledgable guy, who was pestered by me for a good month before I ended up ordering a ridiculously simple make up

Have to say, I would of never guessed that was CXL because of how thick it looks.
I mean fuck me, looks crazy.

I have only heard one person complain about CXL. Dude on SUFU a few years ago on in the Shoes…thread. Everyone else I have asked about it loves it. Im looking forward to it. I will probably bury my face in the boots and smell them for an hour before I even lace them up

nice mega! been eyeing a pair of those forever and you just made my mouth water a little more.
-
Demonito/ Ed doesn't rate CXL, but he is a serious biker, and does construction work also, so his boots do have to be tough as hardened shit.

I wound never even consider wearing anything other than a proper motorcycle boot when biking. Ive gone down hard a few times on my bike, and the first time I was wearing an engineer type of boot and they got ripped right off. The last 2 times were track related, and proper boots did their job and stayed where they needed to be. I cant speak on construction, but I could see why CXL would not be the best choice for construction boots.

Very, very nice Mega, I like those even more now I've seen your pics! Mind if I ask what size you ended up going with, and how they compare fit-wise to both your Smoke Jumpers and SD's? Also, thanks for posting the costs, but did you also get stung for import duty and 'administration' charges?
Seriously considering a pair of these in the red dog rough out

Viberg Oxfords sold on Superdenim UK are made from CXL, are you saying that Brett claims to make his shoes out of crap leather? Not the best advertising
-
what is CXL?

Thats the type of leather ?
