Shoot! Those photos, particularly the Red Square and the one with the woman being followed by a pair of empty jeans, are almost art. Could be art if put in the right place. VERY well done! IH should do some special items only for the Russian market (they'll find their way here) with a Red W and a Red Square on the jeans pockets.

Not really. It's a classic street photo except that the jeans is posed. If you like this style of photography check out the great classics like Henri Cartier-Bresson, Andre Kertesz, Brassai, and Robert Doisneau. This is a good site:
                          http://www.masters-of-photography.com/

The site doesn't surf well but it is one of the best repositories of classic photography on the net.

I am getting a Ph.D. in art history and have dabbled in photography since I was 14, so this one was easy. 🙂 I hope you enjoy the pictures. Cartier-Bresson for example was one of the first Magnum agency members. The agency still exists today and when you check out the best war and travel photos you will see many are done by Magnum members.

It's easy to catch me on a subject that I know strictly nothing about. Try science stuff or computers.

I'm surprised as hell that this topic doesn't exist yet. There's Moscow, but what about just generic ?This thread is for all thoughts, questions about the most wonderful Iron Heart jean called 634SR.

OK, I tried these on once at Self Edge, San Francisco…and if I'm not mistaken, Derek had to choke back his laughter. I tried em both in a W29 and W30. The real problem was the rise...it was insanely high. Not far from my boobs actually. But, I remain fascinated with these jeans. The nagging obsession with 634SR has never left my system, try as I might.

Should I give up ? Will the rise ever shrink down to normal proportions...comparable to the 634S ? I own a pair of 634S in a W30 which I wear boyfriend style -- and they look great on me. If I got 634SR, I'd probably buy them in a W29 (W30 turns out to be slightly too baggy).

The SR is considerably roomier than the 634S, even after shrinking

I'll overlay the 634S over the 634SR later to demonstrate later

I know violence is not the answer, I got it wrong on purpose

That´s right, roomier. I ve been wearing mine for a couple of months now and they have a more relaxed fit than my 643ss. Not sure which I like best though, both are great jeans. The 634sr are starting to fade in a nice and more pronounced way than my 634s and they are fading much faster. Only thing that´s disturbing is the legtwist on the left leg. A bit too much for my liking and comfort. Can´t help but thinking this is something that should have been fixed before start selling the jeans. But, all in all a pair of jeans that will be a favourite for a long time.

Leg twist is a fact of life with unsanforised raw denim.  Espcially if no anti-skew processing is applied.  Haraki wanted these to be as true as possible to a jean that had no processing, so unsanforised, no wash, no anti-skew.  Here a few lines from the 6434SR page:

"There's about 10% shrinkage in the leg after the first couple of soaks or washes and because the denim has not been tampered with, there's going to be some serious seam-skew. If you like your side seams at the side, then buy a pair of IH634S!!"

Don´t mean to be picky and, as I said, a favourite for many years to come. Haven´t read about Haraki`s intention to trueness but it´s interesting to know. Well, i´ts only a reflection and not something that reduces the greatness of the denim.
