my draw is the cut & the fabric color/feel & stitch job. sure you will get 20 different answers from 20 different people, but it's a great question.

I hear u but do you mean the cut/feel/stitch of heavy denim or raw selvedge in general, cause that why I like it, just asking about specifically heavy, does it get more comfortable over time, how long till the knees get holes, 10 years, haha. There is something cool about it, like I said just trying to get opinion on what I can't put my finger on

i was drawn in by the stealth aspect of the denim & the stitching all being Navy. i thought these were pretty smooth out the gate compared to some other denim (25 oz & annies come to mind) but if these are your first time in heavy denim i can get your line of questioning. i have no idea how long till the knees fall out. some dudes&girls are hard on their denim & then it's folks like me that get slow fades
all depends on your lifestyle & if you baby your goods or give them the full-monty-treatment-raw-dog-buck-naked.

i'm 6'3" hemmed to 35.5
i've only gotten to try them on for a minute though

It's finally official– I've joined the IH family. These were waiting for me when I came home for lunch today, so I threw them on for a quick fit pic:
Putting them on for the first time was easier than I feared, considering that I ordered them to fit my thighs which meant the advertised waist measurement was about an inch smaller than my true waist. I didn't even break one finger! I thought day one would be a much more brutal experience, but they were comfortable as soon as I put them on. The denim is, of course, amazing and is so dark it might as well be black. The color reminds me of my WWII peacoat. Can't wait to see how they fade.

xtc really great fit. my pockets look low as hell, but yours look to be in the right place.
also nice boot & DUNE on book shelf is a plus as it's a lot of sci-fi diehards on the forum

Those look perfect, Jacoavlu. I'll be watching to see how yours fade, since mine won't see much wear until January 2013 because I'm committed to my Samurai S710xx's until then for the Heavyweight Denim Competition on superfuture.
And Madmonday, I don't think your pockets look much lower than mine from the pics I've seen. They look great on you as well.
