I feel like the navy thread works well for jeans that are meant to be dressed up, but it doesn't work as well for these since they're so burly.  Dressy jeans should be lighter, so they drape more easily and look more "refined".  These are just too beefy for that sort of look.

On the other hand, the navy thread could look really nice once the denim starts to fade and they get more contrasty.  Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I went to SF SE today to check these out ahead of the sale.  Amazing denim, feels great, and has a deep midnight blue color.  Leather patch was super cool too.  Per staff, for those hemming, apparently SE is going to do a blue thread chainstitch. All in all really nice.

However, when I tried them on, the front rise was pretty low. Too low for me, so will have to pass. Ho hum.

Am I missing something, aren't these same style buttons as on the SR and the duck type III?

I just picked these up, in your guys opinion how will these age and fade, and how to get some high contrast without looking goofy

Totally new denim, so no one knows how they're going to fade yet.  You'll have to be one of our trailblazers.

I'm in SF for a couple days and just went to SE just to try these on.
I take a 34 waist in the 634s, 35 in 634 raw, and 36 in the 801, and I easily fit into the 32 in these (with a small amount of room to spare in the waist).
The thigh was as tight as it could be and still fit though…
Could've done a 31 but there's no way it would've worked in the thigh.
The denim felt great, much softer and and less heavy than the raws...

Those are going to be massive. The sz34s measure about 37in in the waist.

I am so thrown off by the measurements. Sanforized denim should be more consistent with the tagged size. So based on the measurements, I would be a W29 or W30?!?! Great looking denim though…

Yea, those measurements are fully.  This is a pair where I literally cannot wear my waist size without busting the thighs.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see these on people.

I guess I'm just not sure of the logic for these. Just change the tag size to the measured size and all is good. By having that big of a gap, it looks wishy washy.

I don't think the measurement on there se is correct, I mean a 34 is 36.9 but only has a 12.5 inch thigh? No way, I bet it's not as big as it says
