Anyone here use imessenger? I'm curious how it compares to Blackberry Messenger. Was thinking about getting the wife and I an Iphone because everyone in my family has one.

iMessage works great nice to message from iPad to someones iPhone and vice versa.

It appears to be just like a text message, except the bubble is blue instead of green and it uses data, not text messages on your plan

My wife and I use it all the time

Currently my favorite app is FaceTime, as my wife is in Florida for work and we communicate that way before bed. Its actually really nice to use when she's away weeks at a time

For iPad, yeah. Current rumors are early summer for iPhone.

edit: By early summer I mean like June, during WWDC.

I'll get an iPad 3 when they release… it was so hard not to get the 2 over the holidays. I hope it'll be woth the wait.

and I'll be upgrading from my iPhone 4 whenever the new ones hit.

The worst is when new IH gear drops the same time as Apple gear… I try to have a rainy day fund just for this.

I always say don't bother waiting to get an iPhone as they release a new model every year so you will always be waiting. Next iPhone might not be released for another 10 month or so.

Feel like getting an iPod Touch because the Blackberry stinks as a music player… but then again the new iPhone is coming out in the summer...

The thing with the new iPhone is that it'll most likely be a redesign. This is kind of a double edged sword. While it's the newest iThing and have a want factor of a zillion, it could potentially have design issues (see iPhone 4 antenna-gate).

The good news is that the 4 will then be cheap as shit if you don't like the 5.

Yeah I am waiting to hear about the specs/ see the design of the 5. At that point, I will decide weather to upgrade from the 4 to the 4s (for cheap) or to the 5…

No one really know until they release it everyone is just guessing, I know plenty of people in the industry couple working for apple and even they have no idea. As a business point of view they won't release next iPhone till at least 1 year after the 4s.

Summer is just around the corner so we'll see

Possibly larger screen. The usual processor upgrade. Camera upgrade. Maybe NFC. I'm not really sure what else they can do at this point.
