Hey all! I'm new to IH after wearing APCs for the last 5 years or so. Thought it was time for an upgrade. After much consideration, measuring, and re-measuring, I decided that these in a 34 would be the right fit for me. For reference, I wear a 32 in APC (rescue) which fits like a 34.

I'm concerned that I should've gone with a 33. With the APCs, the concern is primarily with stretching, so you get them as tight as possible and let them stretch out. The shrinkage that is seemingly the norm for IH is a foreign concept to me.

When you say it will shrink an inch, but then stretch an inch or so over time, do you mean it will stretch back to the original fit, or will it stretch an ADDITIONAL inch?

Also, I was attracted to your size swapping policy in case of a bad fit. But how will I know how they fit after shrinking without soaking them first?

If I post pre-soak pics, could you guys tell me if I should size down before I soak them?

            Thanks!!!

First off, welcome and congrats on your first IH purchase. It most certainly won't be your last.

All shrinkage depends on what type of soak/ wash you do. Also if you decide to machine wash and or dry, the results can vary. They will stretch back to about the original measurement, not an additional inch from the pre soak.

You won't until you try it. Luckily the B&S area is a great place to move your mistakes.

Of course. Post them up. I think that posting them and getting opinions before you soak is they way to go.

                Hi stickyglue, and welcome!

Post up a pre-soak fit pic, and we will be glad to comment.

I have these in a size 32 and they have stretched back out to the presoak size of 33"

In my opinion, if the waist fits good pre soak, you should be good to go..

I actually think you may take a W30 in the 666. Anyone else care to comment as I am not as familiar with the BBOD? Thanks

I agree with Lando.  Definitely take 30 in the 666s.  I take 30 in both BBOD and 666s.  The 666 stretch quite a lot so you will be fine.

My IH-666S (34) came in today! First pair of IH after wearing APC for the last ??? years.

                                        Impressions:

                                        1. Wow.

                                        2. This denim is thick. Seriously thick. Thick and rigid (haha). And to think…I was considering holding out for the 25oz! They would've ended me.

                                        3. I'm REALLY glad I didn't try to go down to a 33. I would not have gotten into them.

                                        4. These fit perfectly. Like, perfectly.

                                        5. Love 'em already.

                                        Questions:

                                        1. Okay, I've never soaked raw (or any) denim before. I saw the sticky…I just stick these in hot water for an hour?

                                        2. Is this the way the jeans are going to fit after soak, shrink, and stretch? Because that would be awesome. Again, they fit perfectly.

                                        3. What happens if I don't soak them? Is that a cardinal sin?

I'll post pictures when I get home (at work now, couldn't wait to get em on)!
