Mmmmm, bbq pork and salmon sashimi. You're killing me, dude! I love a good CNY feast; gonna have to see if I can get the family to make a run down to Chinatown and celebrate properly.

I guess I need to give this thread a little update. It's already Chinese New Year over here, and we are having fun! Getting Red Packets, having dinner together, and other stuff like that.
Anyway, I went to the Chinatown on Friday, and it was packed with people! We can barely walk in the crowd. Fortunately, it rained earlier that day and it was rather cooling. If not, I would be swimming in sweat under my jeans.
Some deco for sales.
We decided that we need to get a little deco for the house. So this is what I bought.
Coaster Shot.
More Deco!
Those Taiwan jellies are expensive! Was offered a bag of jellies for $70SGD once. Never ever going to buy again.
Walking in such crowd was quite a challenge. Everyone was struggling to go through, so pushing and pulling are unavoidable.
Different kind of peanuts.
Melon Seeds are also one of the traditional CNY snacks, but not my thing. My friend loves them.
There are so many kinds of melon seeds, I cant even tell the difference.
My friend decided on this which is more salty, and he loves it.After all the fun (and sweat) in Chinatown, we were all tired and hungry. We decided to head down to a popular local hawker for supper.
Boiled Cockles
BBQ stingray with lots and lots of chili
And of course, a cup of sugarcane juice to put out the fire. -
BBQ stingray with lots and lots of chiliMmmm. I had that dish in a little fishing village on the east cost of Malaysia a couple of years ago, I loved it….....
-
BBQ stingray on my list of food to try now.
Thanks Ron!

On Saturday, I attended an Indian Wedding with my sis and dad. Well, it's my first time attending such weddings, so might as well take a few photos to share with u guys.
The wedding is in one of the Hindu Temple in Little India.
The main "building" of the temple where the people offer their prayers. The wedding ceremony and lunch reception was held in another part of the temple.
That's my dad.
Signing in.
The ceremonial hall was beautifully decorated, they are rather particular about these things, and are concerned about every little details (just like us).
Waiting to meet the bride and the groom.Lunch was served after the wedding ceremony. And the food was delicious!
The dining hall.
The buffet spread.

Giles, the best BBQ stingray I've eaten was also in Malaysia. And cheap..
A friend of mine used to run a fish farm in Malaysia. I went up for a couple of days from Singapore and took USD45 with me. There were 2 of us, I paid for all the meals, all the booze and a hotel room, I came back with change…......
