I phoned and spoke to Patty.  I think the only suede option is Laramie rough out.

        Thanks Giles.

I sent them an email a few days ago.  Still waiting on a reply.

Right on thank you! I know they both turned out great but am sure everyone would love to see detailed shots and descriptions of what they did.

Well, these I bought second hand from Russell.  It is always worth cruising through here once a month or so, there are some bargains to be had:

                    http://www.russellmoccasin.com/saleitems/saleslist.pdf

They cost me USD100 and I was able to spec whatever sole I wanted as part of the deal.  I chose the wedge vibram lug, basically because i have no shoes/boots with that sole and I thought they would be good for what I intend to wear then for, which is beach fishing and boat fishing through the winter…

wow, the folks at Inventory really ripped these off with their recent make-ups with Yuketen.

wonder which is a better made product as well as a value for the money spent?

the chukka looks quite like a makeup nepenthes did with russell a few years ago, same leather, probably the munson army last, with different sole this time around, very nice, I prefer the crepe sole

for my money, give me the russell over yuketen. I'll take the folks that been in business a long time, and I know when the time comes I can get a resole or repair

the resole/refurbish is a major plus. . . but i can't go with the folks just cause they have been doing it longer.  have to give the new kids a shot at it, might be pleasantly surprised.

I've heard they run about a 1/2 size large?

These certainly appear too.  But my Munsons did not…

more info on the new footwear,  pretty please?

Russell munson chukka laramie suede christy sole from nepenthes, I wanted the crepe sole, I got the last pair they had but they didn't fit, had to exchange for christy 😠 debating whether to treat them up with some obenauf LP, gotta go spy monday's viberg bobcat pics again…

for anyone that cares, mine size 9D, I could almost do 8.5 but the toe box is fairly narrow, I wear Alden trubalance in 9.5D

In my experience, the Laramie suede it does not seem to mark much.  I trash mine and there are no stains on them ay all, my RW suede Mocs on the other hand are spotted and stained all over…

I have mine here, will pop up a pic when I get a mo...

Thanks G, that's useful to have that confirmed. I'm a UK 10 for Trickers and Jeffery West, however my RedWings are US 11 & 10.5 for the 875's and Iron Rangers respectively, (roomy but comfy in the 875, snug in the IR's) so I was thinking that a US 10.5 in the Russell Birdshooters would be OK?
