Yeah those chukkas on top look really nice, but I tried a pair on last year and they didn't feel like a good quality shoe, very light in the wrong way and generally just mediocre. Hard to explain but anyway.

Those Nexusvii deck chukkas do look very nice but the price (+ 400 $) is just too much IMHO for a Timberland shoe even if the materials are top notch..

              AIAN HA-TO!

Timberland, iconic it's simple as that! Both the 6" and the 3 eyed classic are one's i've had numerous times and still currently have 6" in the blonde suede and brown leather and the 3 eyed in burgandy. One thing i will give  prop's for for on those styles is the quality has remained even when they shifted production to the Domoinican Republic although i wonder if the new owners will keep that up now that the Schwartz family has sold out.

Actually these things have reminded me about my 'Super' pair a 1o inch guide boot made with Pittards WR100 leather, Gore-Tex and 400grams of thermolite the nasty weather has no chance against those bad boys.

Where pray tell are these made as i'm guessing it won't be the US or Dom Rep?

Lucky you! I could say the same for us but to be honest i'd rather we had those cold winters we have had the past three years rather than the rain we normally get, in saying that NY's winters are proper bitter.

Does not surprise me that but my Taiwanese ones do, i've never came across any other Timberland made in Taiwan.

i just cared about quality made goods.  having a world view is hard work  😠 & i do salute all those that make purchases around human rights issues & the sort.

guess it's one of the reasons this thread is sort of empty

I've been clothing obessed from a young age and back then most of my stuff was Italian,French,UK with a bit of US made thrown in. However in 90's most companies began outsourcing to Far Eastern countries and although i bought non Western made stuff then and still occasionally do so quality or lack of as well as just how expensive the item is will make me walk away from it, if paying a few extra £ gets me non sweatshop made goods then i happily stump up the cash.

Bringing this thread back to ask… has anyone had issue with the linings wearing away inside their timberlands? Mine (standard 7-hole, and admittedly beat to shit from working construction for a good few years) have started to wear away around the heel, which exposes a fairly painful join about an inch or two up from the insole. Otherwise, these boots have been great for working, hiking, cycling, playing gigs, going to the gym, walking on a stupid incline on zincalume (seriously great grip...). I just don't wanna give them up!

In other news, hi forum! It's been a while 🙂

I wore timberland boots for years, I'd say I went through 5 or 6 pairs and I am pretty sure they all suffered in the exact same way.  I found them a great boot, but this used to annoy the hell out of me..!
