Comic book heaven, Midtown Comics in NYC…

In an ideal world, this would be holding up my Busters.

mainstream sickness that started me on my path to great story telling & people with issues:

i also loved the HBO Spawn cartoon series from years back.  i have some more obscure stuff like grendel & other comics that were just kind of twisted, but the above are the ones that have stood the test of time for me.

              bonus material

if i had a place to put them i would still buy comics 😠  & the character i love most is mr. natural

yeah, some of those comics are older than some of our forum members  😉

great stories are great stories regardless of format. wish i had more time to pursue all my twistedness  😠

I agree MM, I don't buy much new stuff at all. Luckily I have a massive back catalogue of awesomeness to keep me going.

Side note - Me and Tommy are currently playing Arkham City…...BEST GAME EVER!!

It's basically more of the same, but about 10 times bigger, and a lot prettier.

Got a system running, leaves me some time to write a proper post.
This being an international forum, I will not care (also because I do not necessarily know) whether the comic, BD or manga has yet been translated in English, French, German, Japanese, Swahili or any other language… sorry!

Belgian/French style: (skipping the classics like Tintin, Largo Winch, Schuitten etc.)

                          • Magasin Général: Québec, Canada in the 1920s, small village, very nice drawings and well made scenario.
                          • Bunker: Imaginary Sovietic kind of country in the Himalaya with old gods. Scary story.
                          • Sanctuaires: Same scary idea as in bunker, with an old god trapped for centuries and finally released.
                          • De cape et de crocs: imaginary world, theatrically described, inspired by Cyrano de Bergerac.
                          • All things from Marc-Antoine Matthieu, just pure nonsense, black and white, but damn it is good.
                          • Sentinelles: WWI at its best/worst, this one gives back to war what belongs to war: horror, fear, guts etc. Well made.

                          American:

                          • Alan Moore: V for vendetta, From Hell etc.
                          • The walking dead.
                          • Maus, Art Spiegelman… no need to introduce
                          • Will Eisner, disney drawings because he worked there, but some of his stuff his really good.

                          German:

                          • Gift, trial and decapitation of the last lady poisoner in Bremen in the 19th century. Really good!
                          • Haarmann, homosexual cannibal serial killer from Hanover in short in meat post WWI Germany. Give you the creeps!
                          • Die Sache mit Sorge, German spy in China and Japan for Stalin.

                          And of course: Japanese mangas:

                          • Nausicaa, Miyazaki Hayao (and all his animés from the famous studio Ghibli!!!!!).
                          • Taniguchi Jirô: Sommet des dieux and alll his stuff.

I forgot many I think but this post will still be there later on. Please give some advices for good stuff!  😃

                              With the lights on

This car took me a few months to build up, it had about 1500 pieces, it rolls along the ground alright. took me plenty of late nights to finish.
