Yep, I'd call that a catastrophic needle accident…

Holy crap. I never seen a needle do that before. You didn't put the feed dog plate back properly?

I did not tighten the presser foot retaining screw enough.  As the felled seam came through the feed, it pushed the presser foot out of alignments and hey presto, fecked needle…...

UNITY PREVAILS

In the build up to getting the shipment of XHS (scheduled for tomorrow), I unpicked the hem of my sample IH-634-XHS and gave them to Unity to see how she would cope.

It took 3 attempts to work out how best to feed the denim.  But on the third try,  Unity managed to tame the 25oz.
