We have too many variants, I've fallen into the trap of being swayed by people with loud voices. I need to throttle back and get some logic into what we offer..

Ok, time to revive this thread. Can anyone tell me anything about Skull jeans these days?
I'm a big fan of Skull. From my experience I can totally vouch for the quality of denim and great cuts. The denim did change at some point, but its no better or worse than before, just different. I don't know what went on behind the scenes a couple of years ago, but it seems the brand was verbally bashed by some people for personal reasons.
Regarding construction, they use an all cotton thread which has a reputation for wearing/breaking more than some brands. However the actual quality of craftsmanship is great on my pairs. If you can accept that the seams may need the occasional bit of TLC, you're onto a winner!
And if you buy from BIG, ask about the red tab
