    Oh, man… that's tough.
    Is any of this covered by your homeowner's insurance? I know this probably falls into the "act of god" category but, still...

    Yeah…there is a big difference in the cost when shipping to Europe with tracking and without. Keep in mind that COVID-19 has had a major impact on the delivery of parcels, especially via Canada Post, for example. I'm fairly certain the parcel will arrive, it's just going to take a while.

    I have really enjoyed Devs, despite using Den of Geek reviews to help understand what the hell is going on from time to time.

    Not sure why the audience score is so poor on RT.

    It was bloody awesome. I suspect the slow burn of the first half was dull for some. I know this sounds arrogant, but I find popular opinion to be a very poor indicator of quality.

    That's fair. I'd be lying, though, if I said I didn't consider both when deciding what to watch.

    Finally got around to watching the third season of The Handmaid's Tale. I quite enjoyed it. Not sure why the audience score is so poor on RT.

  • RE: The (Less intimidating) Watch Thread

    I don't imagine I'll ever be anything other than a quartz guy. It's not in my cards to have the kind of disposable income to become a "watch enthusiast" so, why bother?

  • RE: The (Less intimidating) Watch Thread

    Thank you.

    You brought up a good point: I'm not a fan of watches whose height is > than 13mm and I just noticed the Inox comes in at 13.6mm. I'll try and find a local dealer to try on for size.

    If I'm being honest with myself, I've had my eye on the Khaki Aviation Pilot Pioneer Chrono for quite some time and, it's just been released in what I feel is a more appealing colourway. I've yet to be able to track down any figures concerning case height but, it doesn't appear to be overly thick.

    @Black:

    I didn’t know that either but I’ve been informed that it’s Ford versus Ferrari for you in Canada?

    Exactly. I'm guessing it was released as "Ford Vs. Ferrari" in the states, as well. The only other time I remember there being two working titles for a film was "Edge of Tomorrow," also known as "Live. Die. Repeat." Something I'll keep an eye out for in the future. And you're right, Le Mans 66 is a great watch. 🙂

    This maybe old news but Le Mans 66. What a film, fabulous

    Ah! I didn't know films have different titles depending on where it's being released.

    Does anyone have experience with the 43mm Victorinox Titanium Inox? I'm curious how it wears on sub 7" wrists.

    @DougNg:

    There isn't that much point to a mechanical watch altogether to be honest…
    Quartz is more durable, more intrinsically accurate, and maintenance to a point is cheaper and faster.
    The one thing about quartz is that when it finally shits the bed, you have to toss the entire module out, whereas in theory, you can swap out parts with a mechanical (although a poorly maintained mechanical can reach a point of no return as well)

    Ah! I hadn't considered the ability to switch out parts. That makes more sense. I'm guessing it would be wise to go with a more "popular," robust movement so that parts would be more readily available at watch repair shops, right? Would that also mitigate the service cost?

    (Thank you, BTW)

    Uninformed question: Is there a point in having an automatic movement in an inexpensive watch? I just feel like the maintenance costs wouldn't be worth it….

    @DougNg:

    I'll watch anything where people get shot in the face

    I was a able to sit through The Walking Dead, which I otherwise find to be horribly bad TV, just on the strength of the zombie head shots.

    I still watch it but it really has gone downhill. I just finished S4 of Fear the Walking Dead which basically beat the proverbial dead horse. Can't believe they're making yet another Walking Dead spinoff show.

    Ever since the reboot it's been too much of the same old TWD. I didn't bother watching the most recent season.

    It makes sense that someone was going to get cut when you bring in Noomi Rapace and Michael Kelly.

    I had some major muffin-top issues with my pair. I guess I could have worn them with the top button or two undone but, in the end, decided the cut wasn't for me. Ultimately, it will depend on your level of comfort.
