  • RE: Dat VIDEO!

    @den213:

    But who's stopping this douche's moustache?

    I assumed it was a staged prank video when I saw it. Nobody with a ridiculous mustache like that would forcibly impose their hairstyle views on anyone else by cutting a stranger's hair. And then the apology. So who's being pranked? Just their channel viewers. Pretty stupid.

    Edit: I just noticed these fools got 49,000+ dislikes on their prank video, so maybe they got the message.

  • RE: IH-634S-19L-V1/V2 - 19oz Left Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Straight Cut

    @Engineer:

    I received the blue bag today - thanks again IH-UK crew for the fast shipping!  I wrestled these into submission and was able to close all of the buttons (it took some persistence). @Winchy  I think the sizing worked out well - the 34W would've been too small, I think.

    And now for the world's worst quality fit pics…  (I'll get better ones soon - I forgot my SD card at work...)

    The leather patch is on the left side for this model? (i.e. lefty) The product pics show the patch on the right as usual.

  • RE: Watches - another OCD problem

    Anyone know why diving watches are typically made with mechanical (automatic) movements rather than quartz? Automatics aren't more accurate and I'm always resetting day/date/time etc when I switch watches.

    (I've been looking at the new Seiko turtle SRP777 - a reissue of the old discontinued 6309 turtle.)

  • RE: Bitch Please… FAKE Iron Heart?

    Even at first glance I thought something looked wrong with the tag. No model number? No size?

    Then they clearly say "…Iron Heart replica..."

    XXL. Better sleeve length, shoulder seam position and torso length. (Unless you prefer your shirts tight and short.)

    I know this is off topic for the thread, sorry, but what ever happened with the DC4 robbery? They ever get caught? Did the items turn up somewhere?

    @jasonel:

    Went to pick up my 634 and 634sb from being repaired, and Selfedge LA was broken into…
    So my 634 of 5 years were gone and my SB, and about $40k worth of merchandise stolen from the store.....
    They were nice enough to replace them, but SHIT.....
    Just when you have a favorite broken in pair, some bull crap happens....
    At least no one was hurt during the theft....
    But I'm about to go to every thrift shop in LA......
    If you got jeans at self edge LA,
    You should inquire if they still have them

    Sorry your favorite jeans got stolen.

    If i were you, I wouldn't spend any time checking thrift shops. A thief is unlikely to separate out the used items and deliver them to a thrift store. Thieves steal to re-sell not to donate. You might be better off checking ebay, sufu, local pawn shops specializing in clothes, and possibly second hand stores that buy used clothes.

  • RE: IH-634S - 21oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo

    I suspect people who left their jeans for repair are the biggest losers.

    The store itself probably has some form of business insurance to cover their inventory in cases of theft., i.e. fire and theft insurance. It sucks of course, but it probably costs them the insurance deductible not the value of the stolen inventory. It's the same as renters insurance or home insurance.

  • RE: Iron Heart Products - What do you think we should make?

    Agreed. And while we're at it, why not a 3-pack of plain black tee shirts also in 7.5 oz?

    Ok, it's a shop in Thailand. Found their facebook page. Many "Japan style" things.

    Here's very detailed pics of an "IRH-666i" in 17 oz.

    Interesting. You don't see many IH fakes. The patch and the W are way off. The arc seems pretty well done. I wonder what the rest of it is like. I went to the fake markets in China and saw only Diesel, Gucci, etc.

  • RE: IH-666-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Slim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo

    @Traser2g:

    Thanks @Oleg.  I was reading through the Care thread and probably should have posted there, but wanted specific input on the 25oz.  Greasing the patch is a great bit of advice!  I would love to get 2" in the waist and maybe 1/3" in the leg opening but I am probably asking a lot.

    I encourage you to get another pair that fits and keep the current pair in good condition in case you put on the weight again. I'd hate to see you cut off the patch, boil the jeans, and then put them in a dryer. Seems blasphemous to treat them that way. You can always sell them later if you don't mistreat them too much. Just my opinion.

  • RE: Don't Mourn, Organize! Leather Goods by Scott Willis

    DMO is on massdrop and might hit $54.99 per belt plus $2.38 shipping, if they get enough interest.

    Backed.

    Here's a pair pinking shears that I picked up at a yard sale for $0.50. (well made but somewhat wasted on me because I don't use them)

  • RE: IH-634-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans - Indigo

    Good idea, but why make the improvement some sort of anniversary special? Why not just update the 634 cut to include all the high quality details that are included in the 666 cut? Patterns and techniques can be improved over time especially if it suggests higher quality.

  • RE: Samurai Jeans

    5 months only on weekends is about a total of maybe 40 days of wear. If they are dirty, wash them, but otherwise 40 days is a little soon.

  • RE: Random questions to which you seek an answer

    Just wondering - what is IH lot 106 denim? Looks like it's from the early Free Bee days with the old arcs but I've never heard of it.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Iron-Heart-Lot-106-W28-L32-Jeans-Denim-Rare-375-/121608868077?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c507410ed

    I'd like some sort of historical catalog of IH progression and models (like you see for levi's collectors).
