    Thank you Skylersdad for the quick payment. He is a reliable buyer and a pleasure to deal with  🙂

    @Seul:

    😉 😉 😉

    Man it has this heavy aroma of licorice… Overwhelming, in taste as well... Problem being: I don't like licorice...  :-\

    Concerning Gouden Carolus X-mas:
    I can second that. While I don't hate licorice per se, I think it shouldn't be in a beer. Luckily I only bought 4 bottles. Gotta gift that shit to someone 😃

    @Seul:

    Damn son… Very, very wise investment... I'm still thinking of buying a couple myself... Have four 2013s in my mate's cellar but that's not enough!..

    Seul, I'll try to take a pic of my collection soon. I think things got out of control since I stumbled upon this thread.

    I can only repeat myself: If you are located in Germany, buy from this shop www.bierzwerg.de
    Good selection, affordable prices and reasonable shipping. BTW, just ordered 12 bottles of Cuvée van de Keizer Blauw 2012  😉

    @FurattoHeddo:

    I think you meant Malle (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malle) … and I live 15min. drive from the WM Monastery btw... Need to try that cheese as well someday... 🙂

    You are right, FurattoHeddo. I meant Malle! Was blown away by the fact that they come to Germany.

  • RE: What's your favorite Beer?

    I'm drinking Bush de Noël. Holy fuck it's amazing! I want to hug the whole world atm.
    BTW Seul, I recently learned that Welle (Belgian Town, think of Westmalle Tripel) is the twin town of Heusenstamm, a small city in my close proximity. And guess what? They have a yearly St. Nikolaus fair, where they sell Westmalle and even cheese from the monastery. I'm so going there. Can't wait to see what they sell. Try to take pics. Life is good 🙂

  • RE: What's your favorite Beer?

    Haha, I won't. I don't drop things. Especially no beer bottles! No matter how drunk I am. Also, I don't lose things. I have to say that the Rochefort 10 is kicking in pretty strong now (first effect I notice is when the music starts to sound better).
    Alright, fuck off, I got work to do! (TPB reference)

  • RE: What's your favorite Beer?

    Tried the Rochefort 10 today. Took it out of the fridge, let it warm up for 2 hours (Dean Seul style), poured it in the Westmalle glass. Tasted better than straight out of the fridge. Somehow there was no bitterness to it. Complex aromas (can't bother to type which ones, wouldn't matter anyway), warm finish without an overwhelming taste of alcohol. In summary: I like! Now that I have established a specific drinking routine for it, I' ll definitely stock up on some Rochefort 10. If you can, you should try it!

  • RE: What's your favorite Beer?

    @Seul:

    Goudenband is an old brown, not a geuze… But if you don't like the sour beers (yet), then don't try geuze...

    Rochefort - funny that you should mention this... Spent two hours warming up, at around 12-14 C° now...

    Ah I understand. So Goudenbrand is an old brown. Will try a geuze eventually.
    Also, will give your preparation regarding Rochefort 10 a try. Who knows, maybe my learning curve will show an exponential growth 🙂

  • RE: What's your favorite Beer?

    Hey Seul,

    yes I have tried the Rochefort 10. It took me 3 attempts to fully appreciate the taste. How do you drink it? Cold (let's say around 4-5°C), rather cold, rather warm, at room temperature?
    The Bush Noël is on my to buy list. Saw your pics from post #1894 in this thread, where you stated that you need to visit Geers again.
    Never tried the Abbaye des Rocs Speciale Noël, but will order it as well. Along with the St. Bernardus Christmas Ale and Malheur 10. However, I'm not quite fond of Geuzes. Tried a bottle of Liefmans Goudenbrand and didn't like the taste. I'm talking about the bottle wrapped in blue paper. As you mentioned before, Geuzes are an acquired taste.

    Holy fuck this winter will be awesome. This is my to buy list:
    Houblon Chouffe Dobbelen IPA Tripel
    BrewDog Punk IPA
    Crew Ale IPA India Pale Ale
    Ratsherrn Pale Ale
    Häffner Hopfenstopfer Seasonal Special Ale
    Propeller Aufwind Double IPA
    Dubuisson Bush de Noël
    Gouden Carolus Christmas
    Abbaye des Rocs Speciale Noël
    St. Bernardus Christmas Ale
    Malheur 10

    Cheers

  • RE: What's your favorite Beer?

    Paging Dean Seul,

    Should I buy 9 bottles of Gouden Carolus Christmas without even knowing how it tastes? Is it worth the money? You know I'm a sucker for Cuvee van de Keizer. Is it similarly good? I always trust your recommendations and haven't been disappointed yet.

    Dean Seul,
    I would be pleased to read your list and implement your recommendations into my next order. You won't find the Cuvee van de Keizer blauw though, as I bought all the remaining bottles 🙂

    @ Jordan
    Do you know this shop?  www.bierzwerg.de
    Located in Germany. Shipping is reasonable (6.95 € for 14 x 750 ml bottles or 22x 330ml). Maybe cheaper than buying in Berlin. Check it out!
