  • RE: Heroes (Buying/ Selling/Trading)

    Only good to report, as always with this forum. Sold something like 12 shirts, and had zero trouble with anyone. @bryaneidins70  , @IH-GARY , @Senorx , @kshakeri …all great buyers.

    Extra credit to @madmonday , who sold me a pair of jeans…and when it didn't fit, he sent me an identical pair in another size and took a "free" return. I don't expect that service from most stores...let alone a dude on an internet forum. He's the man!

  • RE: White's Boots

    Both my Bounty Hunters are 10E, as are these. I'd say these are about as wide but maybe feel a tiny bit longer? I'd probably consider buying MPs a half size smaller than a Bounty Hunter, but its totally wearable at the same size.

    Yeah, close trim. At first arch-ease seemed impossible to get used to…now I hate not having it.

  • RE: White's Boots

    I have a couple bounty hunters that I love, but I wanted something a little lighter and less bulky. I ordered a pair of White's Military Police Service Boot and have been pretty happy with them. I miss the crazy arch-ease thing (didn't see that coming, to be honest) and no speed hooks is killing me. Other than that, they seem like really nice pieces of well-clicked chromexcel and a good last.

    These seem like they're pandering to the Viberg crew, but I figured I'd give them a shot before I dropped 30% more on Vibergs. Not sure how I feel about the toe caps, but I'm getting used to them.

    My three favorite fits are:

    Alden Trubalance 10 E - Almost as good as the White's 10E. No complaints.
    Alden Trubalance 9.5 EEE - Pretty good but a bit snug. Thin socks only.
    Wolverine 1K Miles 10 EEE - Started fine, ended up being too big because the leather was so stretchy.
    ASICS 11 EEEE - Great fit. I can never find sneakers or athletic shoes that fit. This is the only thing that has ever worked for me.

    Never had Vibergs or Wesco to compare to, but I'm sure they would have a last that fits as well.

    Whites Bounty Hunter roughout showed up. I'm so hooked on the way their 10E fits, I don't know if I'll ever buy anything else.

    @Jestre:

    Not too sure about the difference @Ragehaver.  I believe 'harvest' was just what they named that particular color/hue of leather.  The rough-out on mine seems very similar to what you linked so I wouldn't worry about it too much if it looks good to ya.

    Agreed. I ordered some leather samples so hopefully I'll be able to sort it out.

    @Simoon:

    What is the price of one pair of white boots ?

    A custom build from Baker's is about $450~500 USD, depending on options.

    @Jestre:

    OK, here we go.  My custom White's Harvest Rough Out Bounty Hunters.

    Where they began:

    Those are rad. What is the different between Harvest rough out and Distressed rough out leather? I think my next pair will be something like this, but I can't figure out the different between the leathers.

    @Haddtoo:

    @Ragehaver size looks good…where's it tight ?

    It's an XL, which is my usual size, so I expecting it would be snug from the dye shrinkage. Mostly too snug in the belly – so my fault hah.

    Enjoying this one. A bit more subtle than the usual. Half size bigger wouldn't have killed me, though  😛

  • RE: Other shoe-brands

    @JCMx800:

    I am a 8.5E in Whites and WESCO and New Balance 998 and PFFlyer MIJ in US9 do fit pretty good 🙂

    Thanks. Know a good place to buy MIJ PF Flyers in the USA?

    I'm a 10E in White's and it's a solid fit. I have some New Balance M574 in 10.5 EE and they are too snug in the top of the toe box. I tried size 11 EE and they were too long and still not wide enough.

    @Ragehaver:

    Any recommendations for something light and good for summer – along the lines of keds, converse, vans, etc, that comes in extra wide? I'm struggling finding something other than boat shoes that has the width I want.

    edit: to answer my own question, I picked up some Vans Sk8 that barely fit at size 11. I'd prefer wider, but it's workable for something casual I guess.

  • RE: What's your favorite Beer?

    Ballast Point was right next door to where I used to live in CA so I picked this up. I know this is the "favorite beer" thread, but holy hell this is bad. Not sure why they bothered bottling and distributing it. Victory at Sea is still one of my favorites though.

    @madmonday:

    Have to be honest & say I'm itching for a pair of White's classic work boots

    Yeah whites classics are awesome but you can't deny the comfort on those Roys. Totally different look, so it makes sense if you want something more rugged.

  • RE: IH-666-LB - Devil's Fit Loom Breakers….

    @Jordonf9:

    These will be a great summer jean

    That'd be awesome. Is the general consensus that these will be a good bit cooler than the standard 21oz? I had some IH-817 that weren't exactly cool, so I guess we'll find out.

  • RE: IH-777S-21 - Super-Slim Tapered 21oz Indigo Selvedge Jean - VERSION 1

    @madmonday:

    glad you happy with them & sine they 21 oz denim you can pretty much wear them all year without tooo much swamp nutz.

    great job

    Yeah, I swear they breath better than the lighter 18oz 666S's. That could be a function of the fit as well – these have a bit more room all around.
