I didn't hear back on conditioner recs beyond Graham's so I talked with Simmons and they felt OK with using Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP. The process was nerve racking and I feel a little like I got off an actual horse because it took about 2.5 hours. Very happy with the end result though. Here are some before shots, active process and final product. I'd take another outside pic but it's currently snowing.

@Jcaz6996  Thanks! I think it's personal preference but I did so for two reasons: 1) I live in a high desert, dry climate and saw some indication of dryness and 2) I almost was caught in a rain storm and I read the bees wax/propolis should offer some water repellent.

In a cursory perusal of leather websites I saw a lot of discussion about conditioning every 3-6 months. Personally, that seems overkill to me. Like I said, it takes LONG time to cover the whole shirt (esp. my 4X).

The final photo is a little darker than reality. I'll try to post another on a nice sunny day outside soon.

      Cheers!

I sent a message to the IHUK crew but haven’t heard back. I saw this on eBay and I can’t for the life of me find a match for it. Anyone own this or know a product number? I’d like something like this (ideally new!) IMG_8220.jpeg IMG_8221.jpeg

@kojimastreets I was looking for some shots of this bag. Considering one. And here I find a photo of a coffee shop within walking distance of my house. Small world!! Cheers! Is there room for more than one in this city???

@Tago-Mago yep that’s it! Good work! Now to see if I can find one that might not smell like cats and cigarettes 😉

@Tago-Mago hey thanks! I didn’t know where to stick this as I never ask for this kind of thing. I’d say the one for sale looks so much lighter but I think you’re right that looks like the material and cut otherwise? Anything else this could be? I actually have limited knowledge about people faking IH flannels and would want to steer clear of course. Thanks to you and anyone else with thoughts.

@yannis great to hear. Thanks for the insight! Might just be the summer of herringbone!

Any insight on how light or breezy this fabric might feel in the summer? Looking for an alternative to shorts this summer to better cover the legs in the hot western sun.

    • RE: IHSB-PR-NAT - Iron Heart x Simmons Bilt Horsehide Western Shirt - The Pale Rider - Natural

Hello, All. Trying out my first post here. I'm relatively new to the brand but went big this year and bought a pale rider (huge shoutout to VMC in Zurich who was willing to ship the last 4X I could track down to Denver). I've mostly been wearing this around the house the last months (such a hot summer) and it's starting to develop some patina, especially where it hits my raws. Anyhow, a couple of questions for those who have been wearing this regularly:

      1. Has the shedding from the shaved inside dissipated with time? Any tips or tricks? I thought about hitting it with a lint roller because it just isn't slowing that quickly and my wife thinks I look like I've been doing woodwork some days.

      2. Any recs on conditioners? Rationale and pics would be so great. Graham informed me IH sells both Obenaufs and Mustang Paste/Oil but I have no experience with either.

Thanks in advance. And once I get the hang of the forum I'll try to post some photos of my steed! It's been really cool seeing the ones posted.

      Cheers
