      @motojobobo:

      Thanks @Seul ! Out of 4 Viberg boots, all of which I like equally, this pair gets the most use…something about them just beckons to pull them out of the closet and on the road.

      Yes, the Country Derby are tanks, but like jeans, one pair is never enough. Hit the Viberg site, they sell a nice Viberg Conditioner for Waxed Flesh boots, beeswax, very light on the fingers, give the boots a clean, then a nice coat of the wax conditioner, and it'd take you another 4 years to get them looking like that again.

      Since this is a Viberg thread, here's my pair of Viberg Bourbon Shell Cordovan and my Viberg Mahogany Shell Cordovan boots, sometimes I just never want to take these boots off. All size 12D.

      Forgive the picture, laundry room at the back of the house….:-)

      Have to take a pic of my Brown Horsebutt Service boot, sometimes hard to tell they're not shell.

      Have Alden Indy 403 and in Shell, as well as the Shell Brixton Brogues, and they feel great, just in my opinion, nothing supports and holds the feet as well as Viberg.

      Here's a pic of my Viberg Brown Horsebutt Service Boots.

      Alden, Allen Edmonds and Viberg are all my preferred brands, tried a few others, but I failed to grok them.

      Was lucky to find these a few years ago. Epic rare boot in my opinion, I have Viberg horsebutt service boots as well (see lots of service boots), but this was a unique find, and love the fact I've never seen another pair in the wild.

      I've received countless questions and compliments about these boots.

      This is a pair of Viberg Black Waxed Flesh Country Derby boots…like all exceptional boots, they absolutely feel great to wear even at 2lbs a boot! 🙂

      Sorry for the crappy pic....

    • RE: The Flat Head

      Just picked up this stellar pair of The Flat Head 3209Z 20oz One Wash Selvage Denim, size 36, bit tight on the waist but already stretching out after a couple of hours of wear.

      These jeans are very heavy weight, feel great, Filthy is correct, not many jeans compare to IH when it comes to heavy weight jeans, but the Flat Head 20 ounce jeans weigh a ton, feel very thick and tough, but the fit is perfect, my second pair of Flat Heads (other pair are the The FlatHead K015, woven with Kevlar) and these are very nice jeans, love the solid blue stitching on the back.

      Here's a pic of both, just cutting and pasting seller pics:

    • RE: IH-888-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Ind/blk

      @Filthy:

      These jeans are so pleasurable to wear. I wish the camera was able to capture the sheen of the denim. They are so soft now.

      I agree, been wearing these 25 ounce IH-888-XHSib jeans for awhile now, my absolute favourite pair of jeans, still nice and stiff, but they are incredibly comfortable, and pics don't do justice to what great colour these jeans have, really stunning pair of pants, wear them in the office on Fridays, and they are obviously such a nice cut, well designed pant, that they pass for business casual.

      Guess I'm the odd person out, but I actually don't like my jeans to do the big fade, like them looking new and crispy.

      And Filthy, those Samurai jeans you sent, had them tapered a bit and the waist brought in a tad at a superb tailor, great pair of jeans, but you are absolutely correct, they don't compare to the IH's in my opinion.

      Cheers….:-)

      @Filthy:

      Sweet. Have a good one!

      Jeans just arrived!!!

      Filthy, you're the best, inseam is perfect at 36, one small cuff and they work perfectly.

      I'm a 38, but these are fitting well, seems they've had some shrink, a tad baggy on the hip section, but they are very nice jeans. They're heading for a good soak then a wash to clean them up as you suggested.

      Also, you are completely right as to the weight and feel of this denim compared to the IH 25's. I am finding the IH's so comfortable, even though they're still like wearing cardboard, they feel like ferkin' pajama's they feel, fit and hang so nicely. So can see where you said the Samurai feel more like 18oz.

      Well, into the wash, when they're all dried up, I'll try and post a pic.

      Filthy - was so super nice of you to do this, and wish you the very best. 🙂

      Hi Filthy - what a great offer, I'll PM you and definitely will take care of shipping and I insist on at sending you some funds towards the jeans, I'll send you a PM later today.

      The Iron Heart, Lord Thunderin' Jaysus, glad I read your thoughts on how to button….that was some fun. So I've washed them once, turned inside out, have now left the first three buttons done up.

      These jeans, along with the 6's 21oz straight cut, are the nicest jeans I've ever worn.

      Next step for me after wearing and working them in for awhile will be working on getting the sizing perfect, the colour of these jeans is sublime, and they feel great.

      So I've read your washing routine to get them down to size right.

      I get what you were saying about shrinkage on the thighs, so I purposely used a delicate 20 minute machine wash on hot with no spin, drip dry, and had to inhale a tad to get them done up.

      Still loose on the sides, and could all round be a more snug fit, but baby steps on these.

      The denim from this company is super nice, as someone who also has a hobby of collecting and restoring antique straight razors (Wade & Butcher, GB, etc.,) this denim would make a superb razor strop....a lot of people don't realize, that aside from stropping the razor on leather, many would simply use their the thigh area on their jeans to strop up a razor, or fashion a strop out of an old pair of jeans, puts a nice edge on the razor.

      Heading out for some errands with the 25oz on, still feel like walking around in cardboard pants, but their quickly softening up.

      Sheesh, if I had of grabbed the 36 that measured in at 37.2, think I would of been in a world of hurt.

      Again, thanks Filthy, had a pair of needle nose pliers ready, and absolutely needed them to get the top button done up, that one's broken in now....take care brother and thanks for all the time and information you've shared 🙂
