Tell you all what, after the HWDC2 I will mail the N&F 32oz jeans around for you guys to check out, each person can hang onto it for a couple days then move it onto the next person. We can be the Brotherhood of the Traveling Pants, maybe they will make a movie about it or something.

I've been wearing the N&F 24oz jeans since May, they are very comfortable. Best way to describe it, would be well worn in leather. No more or less comfortable than the much lighter weight denim I own.

There is heavy denim and then there's raspberry scented denim…

      You do the math

      Alright,

(Heavy denim - rasberry scented denim) + (coin pocket plus + wisker fades/weird guy fit) = What the heck are you talking about?  😶 😉

I will admit I am slightly curious how their 32oz feels. Otherwise, I completely agree with Mega.

I'm wearing the 32oz for the Heavy Weight comp, and we're allowed a 30 days of wear before the contest starts on April 1st. Been wearing them twice a week for the last 3 weeks. Stiff as heck and hard to move in them, but they will get pretty comfortable once I start wearing them full time. They aren't as bad as some might think. Then again, people have complained of lesser weight denim being too stiff, I never found this to be the case.

I don't know who this NetlyHunter is, but I like the shit out of him. If you ever wanna come shoot ducks at the bottom of the central flyway, I'd be more than happy to take you to a couple of our honey holes. It might be a fun challenge since they been shot at at bunch and are pretty wise to the way of the hunter…

...only caveat is you gotta be rocking some IH.

Hey, thanks man would love to head south and shoot some ducks with your crew and picking up a pair of IH would icing on the cake. We're pretty lucky up here, birds have very little pressure and there are a ton of places to hunt. Never hunted waterfowl outside of Canada before, but maybe one day.  🙂

I like that he's willing to take chances and try new things.  I'm not interested in most of what N&F puts out, but I respect the creativity.  I think the danger of toning it down is that the brand loses its distinctiveness and gets lost among all the other jeans makers in the same price range.

Exactly, there are many "unknown" brands out there that are doing the exact same thing that many other brands are doing. The real crazy jeans like the colour change, glow in the dark or whatever may not appeal to true denim nerds, but it may appeal to a new, different type of client that wouldn't have bought raw denim simply for fades. (That's called marketing people). When Brandon does these wild and crazy denim projects, they uptake from denim media is all over it, it gets people talking about that brand. When a "generic raw denim brand" comes out with a new cut, or jean that is simliar to every other pair out there how often do you see media grab a hold of it?

(The Chris guy from Ducks Unlimited Brandon is talking about is me)

People watching that, see it are amazed a pair of jeans can stand on their own, that there is rasberry scented jeans and get on the old internet and check out the site. Marketing people! For every person here that looks at them and says what a stupid corney idea that is, there is another person who gets a laugh out of it and goes and picks up a pair.

I thought you guys on the Iron Heart forum would get a kick out of this,

On the way to work yesterday morning saw this cool motorcycle snow sculpture and pulled over to get a picture. Do you think IH would be able to make a pair of denim in that guy's size? Guessing maybe a 62 inch waist and 50 inseam? 😉 In the picture I am wearing the 32oz Naked & Famous denim, (Hope it's okay for me to post this to the IH forum! :-X) I also got the IH wallet leash which you can barely see, if that makes up for it!

As we are allowed less than a 30  wears on our denim when we enter, I am planning to wear my contest pair two times a week for the next couple weeks.

Sorry for the poor picture quaility, hard to get both the white snow sculpture and the darkness of the denim to show up. Of course wearing a winter jacket doesn't help to show off the jeans either, even if it was a balmy -22c

      Cheers!

Thanks to derivative666, purchased the IH wallet leash and even though there were a few challenges with the shipping company, it all worked out in the end. Great person to deal with. 🙂

    • RE: Chains, Reins, Leashes, Wallets & Hooks

      Hey,

Was hoping to get some suggestions, just picked up a Tanner wallet and looking for a wallet chain. I would like to get a tan leather one that will age right along with the wallet. Was wondering what you guys might suggest?

One other thing, not sure If I want a great big long teather hanging way down, would rather have a shorter one. I like the IH  Plaited Calf Wallet Leash but thinking it might be a little long.

      Thanks for the help!

I am going to come at the N&F brand at a different angle, I rather like their stuff. Understandably you guys are IH fans through and through.

I got my start with Nudie, then moved to N&F mostly because they were the only two brands the local store carried and they were less costly, they were IMO better quality,  and the store gave them great reviews. At the time, had someone tried to talk me into a $400 - $500 pair of jeans there would have been no way in heck I would have ever gotten into raw denim. Even the $200 Nudies were way beyond anything I had ever purchased before.

In reading the thread it seems to be the opinion of most of those that posted, don't think much of N&F since they don't do things like IH. It doesn't take a business degree to realize that doing the same thing that countless other brands are doing means your market share is going to be a small percent of the pie. N&F came at it with at a different angle, make affordable, great quality selvage denim that the average guy could afford and look great in. Brandon hand picks or designs all the fabric for the jeans then they are shipped to Canada where they are cut and sewn into jeans. This is part of the reason the costs are lower. There is a ton less taxes they have to pay on fabric v.s. pre made jeans. N&F does a lot of unusual things with their denim, scratch and sniff, glow in the dark, reverse fade etc.. These types of jeans get people talking and exicted for raw denim, and for many  are really quite fun. Another thing I like about N&F is all the colabs they do with other denim companies, Oni, Big John, Flat Head (twice), Kamikaze Attack, Momotaro etc.. which opens N&F fans to world outside of N&F, but still offering the jeans at a great price.

I have met and gotten to know Brandon over the years and he is a stand up, crazy denim nerd. This guy eats, sleeps, and dreams in denim. Customer service is second to none and as a Canadian I happily support another Canuck. What other raw denim designer/owner travels the world to meet his customers at local mom and pop shops? Heck the last time he was in town he and a big of customers and store staff all went out bowling together!

If it wasn't for N&F, I wouldn't be into raw denim as much, I wouldn't be on this site, I wouldn't have signed up for the Heavy Weight Denim Champion of the World (going to be wearing the N&F 32oz!)

      Cheers everyone!

I'm new, coming at you from the Great White North, Canada. Joined up because I will be taking part in the Heavy denim competition. Never bought anything from Iron Heart, but I am sure that is just a mater of time.

      Cheers!
