    • RE: Truman Boot Co.

I've grabbed a pair of almost new Truman boots. They are made from babele bruciato from Tempesti tannery. The quality is on par with Viberg or Wesco. The leather is soft and supple and no breaking in is necessary. The leather is some kind of hatch grain. They are in a size 11.5EE US and true to to size. They are called poor man's Viberg and the only difference is cost.

      @neph93:

@MET does that mean you’ll use them? I’m sure you know but if they’re only lightly used they will stretch out some in width with wear.  Lovely looking boots, even with the wedge sole, which I’m not normally a big fan of.

Thanks. I will use them. It is almost impossible to wear them with thick socks. I know they will strech out. This spring and summer I will thin out the wedge soles. Commando itshide soles would go well under these.

I am interested in these Vibergs. The seller does not know which last they are.

Does anybody know which last are these VibergxHeritage Research Boots?

I've received the pair today. They should be made on the last 110. Otherwise I could not be able to place my feet  in them. Compared with Tricker's, Loake, Alfred Sargent, Grenson, Cheaney sizing the last 110 should be considered F width. My English made G width shoes are larger than this Viberg. It was worth gambling. But I would prefer a wider pair.

I would not have asked J Viberg if the seller had known the last. I have a few Vibergs and I would not buy another new pair again.

I have a pair that I had custom made in 2012 and I absolutely love them.  Jason Viberg was great at helping me get exactly what I wanted and properly sized.  That said, things have changed a lot in the last six years, and I doubt I'll ever buy another pair, either.

      How come?

Still waiting for the boots. A friend of mine in USA bought it for me. He will ship them within a few days.
I shall update and post some photos when I have them.

      Thanks @spacecadet
Viberg was very **helpful(!)**about those boots' last by the way. I was told that I would better ask the seller himself.

Most probably they are last 110 and I've bought them.

They look lovely. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks. The seller wrote that they run larger than his other Vibergs and they did not get much wear because of that. Hopefully they are Viberg's largest last 110.

@neph93 thanks. I should avoid lasts like 2030, 1035 which are narrow. Do you know about last 160, runs narrow?

In short: @MET saved my ass!.. Not only did he sell me a great pair of jeans at a bargain price, he made sure customs couldn't charge me any fees… My stupid arse having forgotten that Turkey is not part of the EU... It would've cost me dearly if it wasn't for this clever chap... Much obliged, mate!!!

Great jacket and I may buy one. How thick is the leather or how much does it weigh in ounces? Is it comparable with the heavy FQHH or Vicenza HH of aero? Any plans to make with brown or cordovan HH?
