    • RE: IHW-18-BLK - Wool Bush Jacket - Black

Took my bush jacket out for the first test run yesterday. It has some interesting design features that are true to the “hunting jacket” genre.

Sleeves are extra long, which allows you to pull your hand entirely inside the sleeve to keep warm if you aren’t wearing gloves.

The fit allows room for extensive layering underneath if you need it in very cold weather. You can also button the collar fastener and pop the collar to keep the wind off your neck. If you plan to wear it with just one thin layer underneath you might want to size down from your normal IH size.

With a couple warm layers underneath it should be able to handle single digit Fahrenheit temps, or with just a light shirt it could be worn into the 60s, as long as you aren’t moving around too much.

      Thanks!

Just got back from a couple miles long walk in the woods while wearing the busters. Late August is not the ideal time to be wearing these, but it seems like the break-in process is coming along. A lot more comfortable than the first time I hiked in them.

Got my pair of UHR Busters a couple weeks ago. My first pair of heavy weight raw denim! Here is a quick report for posterity.

These are on the large side for me, so I did a 3 hour cold soak, then later did a 30 minute hot soak and a hot machine wash to try to get them to shrink as much as possible. Sorry, no measurements were taken, but I'd guess I got about 1-1.5 inches in the waste, 2 inches on the inseam and some pretty gnarly leg twist.

Beware of top loading washers! I was careful to pull them out before the spin started and turn the pants inside out, but it still caused some annoying streaking on the right leg. Nothing too bad, but it definitely motivates me to fade em that much harder so the streaks blend away.

      Here are a couple pics:

Overall, I am really hyped on these jeans! The denim is awesome (obviously) and the lined back pockets is an awesome touch. There is an extra inch or so in the waist, and I'd probably prefer a slightly smaller leg opening, but they fit great with a belt and the cut seems like exactly what I want with denim this heavy. I probably would've been best served by the elusive 35 tag size, but this 36 will do nicely.

Getting the fly buttoned the first couple times is no joke! Break in is ongoing, but they've been pretty comfortable to wear after the first couple days. I'm looking forward to wearing these as hard as possible and seeing some great evo!
