RE: Jacques Marie Mage (JMM) - Sunglasses and Frames…posted in Accessories
@JerkStore I actually got a pair of lenses made with gradient tinted lenses in green. I think, they go from 30% down to 10%. But you can hardly see the colour, neither from the outside nor from wearing them.
So I might need to get them gradient from say 50% to 30% or all in 30%. Not sure.
Perhaps grey or brown are better choices.The reason I'm looking for some lenses like that is to make the quite substantial acetate frame less conspicuous.
I find with sunglasses for example heavier frames are easier to wear than with transparent lenses. -

@Heavy_blue Thanks.
Yes, I've heard of those. -

@JerkStore I see.
Thanks for the reply.Any experience with wearing sunglasses all day like normal glasses?
Or possibly with lenses in between, like medium dark? -

Got the Lankaster back with my rx lenses. Really like this pair. Bonus pic of my wife’s Picabia.

Do you wear the Lankaster just as sunglasses or as "normal" glasses?
I was thinking about getting glasses with darker lenses like sunglasses to wear them.
But I'm not sure, how practical that is.Perhaps there are glasses that are not as dark as those of sunglasses.

Ah, that's best.
I found out now. I have this one (MJ10116): http://www.superdenim.com/the-real-mccoys/categories/outerwear/real-mccoys-us-navy-pea-coat-navy.html -

I'm the same height as you are and have the peacoat in 42. It fits quite tight, but ok.
Difficult to say actually. It could fit you like made to measure or be too small in 42.
I can't wear a sweater beneath it, just a shirt.HHMMM- I just checked to see, whether we're talking about the same peacoat.
Mine has only side pockets. The 1913 one at Superdenim has both side pockets and flap pockets.
So, it might be a totally different fit between the two.
Also, I find mine not that warm. Enough until let's say -5C, but below with only a shirt it can be cold. -

No, haven't had the pleasure in Berlin yet

Yeah, I was also very surprised when I had to go to customs a few years back.
After all, with all the news on free trade I didn't think we still had to pay any tariffs.
And in Germany one needs to go to the customs office, draw a number, wait for up to an hour, etc..
Apparently in other places like Austria and Denmark everything is done online. I don't know about other countries.
But I have to say that my experiences with the people working there have been good. The payments suck obviously, but they're very friendly. -

@mclaincausey
Pretty cool still.
Thanks -

Made an interesting cocktail. It's like a rock and rye with the spiciest rye you've ever had, but still with 3 other grains on the mashbill. Jigger of a local bourbon (local as in around the corner), tiny dahses of Dashfire Ancient Chinese Secret and of Bitter Truth Jerry Thomas bitters stirred on ice with 2 droppers of habanero shrub. Poured over an ice sphere.

Looks great.
How did you make the sphere?
Do you have a Japanes machine for that? Apparently that's where they come from, no?
I heard that the sphere provides the best cooling with minimum dilution of the drink. -

@501/IH:
Yeah, it is as you say, BF. With the Norwegian story as an added unpleasant experience.
As I said, I wait and see. If someone does the right travel and may be willing to help, great, if not, this perhaps saves me from an imprudent expense…..

I thought, that Norway was part of EFTA, i.e. European FREE TRADE.
But apparently not.
Switzerland is probably the same. -

Thanks a lot Davito! As I suspected, I need an XL. Doh!
Hi, my 2 cents: It depends on the fit you want.
I wear L or XL in IH shirts.
I first had a XL Buzz (new type) and found it too big for me. Wearable, but not the snug fit I was looking for.
I then got L which fits very well. -
