    • Anyone have success getting 21 oz. jeans taken in?

      Hey Everyone,

      I'm wearing the 1955 cut jeans in a tag size 33. The waist was already loose when I bought them but doable and I needed room in the thighs. Unfortunately my waist keeps shrinking but my thighs are getting no smaller. Now it's getting to the point where I can't really wear these jeans as cranking down a belt is just too uncomfortable.

      Has anyone had experience getting their jeans taken in? I live in a small town and we have a few alteration shops but I'm nervous about trusting them with $500 jeans and unsure how they would fare with the heavy denim and bomber construction of these jeans. Should I have the back seam taken in or darts put in or both? Any experience or suggestions would be welcome.

      I guess option B is I could try a different cut like the 634 which seems to have a smaller waist compared to the thigh. But I'm 6-6 so I really like the high rise of the 1955 cut.

      Regards,
      Anthony

      @Stuart.T If you've never worn a ruff at -40 you won't believe how much of a difference it makes. Wolf is one of the best but wolverine is the ultimate because it sheds frost so well. It's a natural and renewable resource. I buy mine from a young family who run their trap line with their kids. They harvest the animal, process the pelt, and sew the ruff.

      I respect that people have their own values when it comes to fur and it's not for everyone. In my part of the world it's really common.

      @ROman:

      @adelorenzo , I have come full circle with the IH 1955 S. It was the very first pair of jeans I bought on this site. I have purchased MANY others, and have finally decided that the 1955 S are my all time favorites. Great look.

      Thanks man! My first pair of Iron Hearts as well, I feel like this cut was made for me.

      @neph93 @den1mhead @Anesthetist Thanks guys!

      @neph93:

      Given your body shape and size I can recommend the 888 cut too. I believe you will find it equally satisfying as the 1955. It has a high rise, a full top block but a more modern tapered silhouette than the 1955. The best thing is the waist/thigh measurement ratio which works very well for those of us with som chunk in the thighs.

      The 888 was the other one I looked closely at. In my case what pushed me towards the 1955 was the slightly wider knee (big calves) and the slightly higher rise. Will have to keep watch, if something epic comes out in the 888 I'd definitely give it a shot.

      Hey Everyone,

      I have a terrible time fitting pants because I'm tall (6-6), fairly small waist (33) and I've been a cyclist all my life so I have really big thighs and glutes. Almost any pants I buy off the rack (that are supposed to be non-slim fitting) I have to size up 2 or more inches in the waist and then have them taken in.

      Fortunately for me the 1955 cut pretty much checks all those boxes with the high rise and roomy cut. The 33 tag size is a bit loose in the waist but nothing a belt can't take care of

      I'm not great at taking fit pics but here's a few from earlier today. I'm never taking these jeans off BTW.

      My jeans showed up today and I am STOKED!!! Grabbed the size 33 and they literally could not fit any better if they were custom made for me. I have a crazy hard time finding any pants that fit, let alone jeans, so this is a happy, happy day. They are also totally boss and without a doubt the best jeans I have ever laid my hands on.

      I tried them on at the office and I can't take them off they are too awesome. So am currently wearing them with an oxford shirt and blazer. 🙂

      Thank you!!!!

      Have you ever offered tall sizes for shirts or jackets? I love your stuff but if I wore an XL for the length I'd be swimming in it.
