anybody have any experience with changing the heel on their white's?  my semi dresses have the cuban heel on them and because of their height it's actually starting to make an old knee injury hurt.  i'm wondering if it 's possible to shorten and change it to a block heel or if that will destroy the shape of the boot.

It's both possible and easy.  The block heel is no problem at all, and lowering it is only a problem if you want to drop it more than a 1/4" inch or so.  Any more than that and you'll start to mess with the orientation of the last and the intended weight distribution and other mechanics that I'm not enough of an expert to know, let alone explain.

You can send the pair in to White's or Baker Shoe, or just find a trustworthy local cobbler to do it.  I had a bootmaker here in Houston do it for me on a pair of cowboy boots and it took a couple of days and maybe 40-50 bucks.

What happened?  They didn't put the soles on you wanted?

it's fine, i learned that if you order with the half mini lug sole it's standard that they put double tiny midsole even if you choose single midsole as an option. i wrongly opted and pay for the  double regular midsole that Baker's corrected.

anybody here gone without celastic toe on a lace to toe? I really liked the feel on the plain toe smoke jumper, but I'm worried the LTT will look strange. thoughts?
