yeah felt a little bad saying it, dude's usually in ace shape. Good chance Summer's just going into the competition like all his normal racing/activities to win it. Or maybe bad lighting 😢

Yeah, I tore my plantar tendon in Aug and kept re-injuring it. I haven't been able to run, jump, calf raise or lunge in 5 wks. I'm nearly 100% now, but I'm I'm kinda pissed that I didn't adjust my diet sooner.  Oh well.

I haven't even started. Too many parties and dinners with friends while in Toronto. Once I get back NYC on Monday, I'll get on track.

I got on the scale yesterday and I was up four pounds. I haven't eaten any sugar all week, and I've only had two whiskey drinks. wtf? That's ok, going for a run in an hour. Stay tuned!

this is not abnormal.  don't be afraid/freaked out.  possible explanations
              1. you didnt eat enough fiber, and you've got some excess waste inside of you
              2. you weighed yourself at different points throughout the day.  for example i'm usually 2 lbs heavier at the end of the day as compared to the morning
              3. you have eaten a lot of sodium, which means your body will retain water

unless you ate a bunch of steak/fatty meat/nuts i doubt you actually gained 4 lbs..

also, gaining 4 lbs is an excess of 14000 cals, which is ~94 beers.
or 350 oz of filet mignon.. or 22 lbs of filet mignon

Or Seul's intake of beers per day.

Well in the span of a week I've managed to lose 5 pounds and then put most of it back on. Yesterday was a pancake- and beer- fueled catastrophe.

Good to hear you're on the way back. Thankfully it's winter time, am sure you'll have that washboard 6-pack back by summer :). You and the fam must have been going stir crazy since Aug.

I had a set of Withings scales, unfortunately they didn't get packed when I was clearing out my flat and a friend inherited them. Something on my shopping list once I'm settled.

I'd agree with @Snowy that they're a great bit of kit, though I'm not entirely convinced by their bodyfat reading. I dropped 12 or 13 kg, and my bodyfat percentage barely budged…

@Graeme I ignore the body fat reading. Unless you've got their super duper edition, it's impossible for it to do properly.

when i get sufficiently jacked (not for some time) i'm going to get one of those water bf tests and see if they will take an picture of me so i can feel like wolverine for the rest of my life

                                        This one is the best:
                                        8. Try on your jeans once a week to keep track of how you're going

Arguably a better approach than scales – which do not show weight gain from muscle mass, trying on your jeans will show that your waist and hips are cinching in while your butt, like a little sunflower, perks up.

@Chris, this is the IH forum. I'm sure that most people try their jeans on at least once a day. 😛

Fair point, but how often do we notice that our butt, like a little sunflower, is perking up?
