I dunno Giles, I think I'd prefer the 289.  I've read (no actual experience, of course) that the 427s have ugly understeer from that massive engine.  Not that I'd give the keys back if someone handed them to me, mind you.

Yeah, but for me it is the sheer chutzpa of even trying to shoehorn a 427 into a little thing like that.  It is quintessential Iron Heart mentality…..G

Thats just such a classic. I was just soooo gutted when I found out it was a set up and that the film car was a Volvo estate and that the film had been sped up. Its still a 250GTO to me

Went to see my friend today who builds hot rods. Here are the two he has on build at the moment. I really really want the 56 Chevy Stepside  . This baby has had a full nut and bolt rebuild with subtle mods: dropped 6" tunned engine, uprated brakes etc, the guy is a perfectionist, its awesome. He's going to want big £££ when finished which counts me out unfortunately
