Indy's and RW GTs look so chunky… I like wearing sneakers under straight legs. I only wear boots under slimmer models, and thus only have 'finer' boots.

I also dislike shiny leather boots, and well the whole concept of a chukka boot, or a desert boot, is lost on me.  :-
Same goes for higher boots w/ a side zipper...

            Guess it is me though...

But at least I have my IH bracelet incoming!..  😘

Nice boots and should be my size. But pre-owned shoes are among the things I really wouldn't buy. A shoe like an Alden will adapt to the wearer's foot and the imprint of their foot is hard to erase from the footbed and even from the way the shoe walks.

Damn you Stewart and Till.  I love that one piece design.  Stewart, how much did you pay all up and where you buy from?  G

That was where I was looking - thanks.  I like the look of the Henry baxter.  I like a leather sole, but otherwise identical to the Saddler I believe.

Congrats on the Baxters, Stewart. Excellent shoe for a very good price, I say. I agree with the usefulness of a rubber sole. It is not easy to find a well-made shoe with a thin rubber sole that can be worn with a wide variety of clothes and in bad weather, too. I have never damaged leather soles by wearing them in the rain but I do take good care of my shoes. I'd however not like to wear leather soles in snowy slush mixed with salt or gravel. That does kill them easily.

Side note: I am close to 40, too (37) and if you look anything like your twin brother of whom you posted a pic, I am jealous. That's one fit almost 40 year old. 🙂
