John Lofgren (Speedway)

tried on the combat boots i posted above last week. what can i say - they‘re called combat boots for a reason. while they have a very shiny appearance in the photos, they were very blunt when i put them on.
so i opted for these here instead:

burgundy french calf chukkas. fit is similar to the m-43s.
small blister on my right heel, probably from the stitching.
apart from that they are buttery soft and fit like a glove.

Always been a fan of Wesco always been happy with them. This make me walk away from Redwing and Trickers.

Notice just like the Real Mccoys the sewing and stitching is perfect.

Make it’s kind of more cool. Wesco are more rugged.
Have a special pair of boots coming by Flat Head in March / April time.

@Kasi I feel like it's kind of hard to compare wesco and JL. Wesco is rugged, heavy and has more of a workboot aesthetic, Lofgrens are built to perfection with a lot attention to detail and are often more military inspired. Both can take a beating but I would not want to trash Lofgrens Iike I do with my wescos, but that's just personal and not quality related.

Maybe wear them as a fashion kind of thing, going out when styling up.
Sound like may need to get another pair Wesco in the near time.

@Kasi To my eye they are better made than any of the US makers (Wesco, Whites etc), better than Trickers and more on a par with Crockett & Jones in terms of quality (the make is quite different).

Also, not that it affects the quality of the boots, but they have the best boot bags of any make, even better than £1500 Edward Greens.

@Kasi I’ve got two pairs of JL engineers and they are beautiful. The finishing is super clean. I wear mine hard and I think they look great when beat up. But they look classy as hell when kept nice and clean too.

Sizing is the same as redwing in my experience. Also wesco, redwing and Lofgren all size the same for me too.

I just got a pair of combat boots and am really happy with them. Good clean look and fit perfectly out of the box.

Ok my pair came today parcel pack perfectly.
Open them up. I didn’t like them at first sight.
WTF I brought.
Hold my thoughts and put them to erase. Started experimenting
Key points
1 Easy to put on and off. .
2 Sew perfectly immaculate.
3 So comfortable.
4 I would buy another pair.

As for sizing it’s different for everyone.
Nailed the size on first go. Didn’t take same size as my Wesco or Redwing. Still love my Wesco, won’t give them up.

Pimp them right away.
