I'm afraid I'm out. I've got awkward shaped (narrow heel, wider forefoot) flat feet, and Viberg wouldn't be happy sizing me up from afar.

As for Cordovan, I made a suggestion to SimonQ that he should go for it in natural. http://corvuswatch.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/color-guide-to-horween-shell-cordovan.html]Corvus Watch Straps say this about it.

_This is actually shell to which no color has been added at all. It is entirely undyed vegetable-tanned horse shell. When it is new, it is quite light in color – a light tan, although the color varies depending on how long between the time it was manufactured and sold.

Because it is undyed, the surface of the leather is variegated in finish. In other words, it can look as if there are subtle waterspots on the surface of the leather. This is perfectly normal. What you are seeing is the patina beginning to develop. The natural shell cordovan is perhaps the most magical of all the colors because of this characteristic -- the ability to take on a deep medium-nut brown patina with age. If you want a perfectly uniform color from the beginning that will stay more or less the same with age, you do not want natural. If you want a strap that builds visual character over time on your wrist, you want natural. It is for this reason that you rarely, if ever, see natural Shell Cordovan used for shoes._

Leffot sell a pair of loafers in natural shell, and they start out looking like this.

And over time they'll go this sort of colour.

those service boots in shell look amazing.  any idea how much a set of those would cost?  I also heard they are not doing shell anymore due to shell inconsistency?  am I remembering this correctly?

jacoavlu, are you not interested in an 11" stallion? I'm not into the 8" version, but am liking the 11".

              Which toe do you prefer?

              Rancher

              Work

              Snoot

              Chopped

              Packer

I'd be up for either the 8" or 11" stallion for myself. I think the packer toe looks best on this type of boot. Just my two cents….

So I'd like to get a pair of 1950 service boots that look like these, but in merlot chromexcel leather (pictured is #8 shell cordovan which is a bit too expensive 😛 )

                      • 1950 service boot, no hard toe, medallion cap toe
                      • brass hardware, all eyelets
                      • single, natural midsole

                      Anyone interested in this?
