@davito  Very nice watch you have there, D.  Wear it in good health.  Totally agree on your watch philosophy too.

@Sugar Mountain  - as promised, the B&S straps:

For now, you'll have to imagine what they look like on my Tudor…

Here is another grail status watch imo, a watch that was built to withstand heavy conditions together with its wearer

The Blue Bay looks excellent D, congrats again. Any regret in not going for the bracelet?

I think this one looks fantastic on leather and the woven strap, as others have mentioned, is outstanding, colorwise too. But, I think I'd find myself also wanting the bracelet, which unfortunately adds another $300 or so on to the final ticket…...

@Chiba J. Thanks so much. No Sir totally no regrets i will wear exclusively on straps, especially will go military milsub style on nato later on. As you might read i am not really entering water swimming wise (or if i should as exception nato will be fine).

              Cheers,
              David

@Chiba J. I was adamant about getting the BB on a bracelet. Even though I have plans to possibly switch it out for a NATO strap next summer, I figured that it would always be better to have the bracelet longer term. The quality of the BB leather strap didn't quite cut it for me either.

@Qinhan While we're on the subject of quality leather, those straps look killer! I appreciate your artistry with the mocked-up Tudor face there too 😉

@davito Completely agree with your longer post above. We can't really limit ourselves to styles of watches where the original design is applicable to our lifestyles. By the same logic, none of us would be wearing jeans or workboots unless we were working on a ranch or putting out bush fires. The Sub-style diver is just a simple classic in terms of utility and aesthetics.

Really enjoying this thread lately btw.

I hear you Davito and SM. I wouldn't need the bracelet for this one. But just somehow feel like it completes the package.

Thanks, but I'm not about to quit my job and become a graphic artist any time soon!

congrats on a beautiful watch guys @Sugar Mountain @davito wear them in good health. I nearly bought one myself but decided not to and save up until I can afford a Rolex Sub. Nonetheless, Tudor nailed it with the reasonable price and handsome design.

Anyway, here is my daily beater with heavy nato i bought from the bay. My trusted companion and comfortable when wearing my IH shirts as the rest of my watches didn't fit quite right under the cuffs.

@Friday thx much Sir. Yes the rolex sub is def worth saving for. I once had the anni LV sub which was stolen in a burglary at home. Still crying after it sometimes but now I am very very happy with the BB feeling real good. However the frog might join me sometimes maybe again.

Your Seiko looks good enjoy it in good health too together with your other beauties

                            Cheers,

@Friday do you still have the IWC? Would love to see some more porn of that if so, still leaning that way over here 🙂

(and thoughts vs the GS. Very hard to go past the GS, looks great as beater!)

@davito I'm sure that no-one forces you to buy a watch, in exactly the same way that no-one forces you to buy IH gear. Rather it's a compulsion! 😉

I've managed to avoid falling into the whole WIS multiple watch trap. I'm planning on selling my Breitling soon, and settling with just the Geophysic. 🙂

It would be cheaper just to grab a new shogun, but this Seiko 6105 has grabbed my attention. The price seems to high for the condition though….. Thoughts?

The movement doesn't look that tidy either. You'd probably want to budget for a service on top of the price.

Have you seen the Seiko Recraft range? If you're not bothered about historical provenance, it might be a cheaper way of getting a similar looking piece.
