imo i'd say that applying 2 or more coatings of wax is the better solution since the first coating is just getting soaked up like it was nothing (same with leather treatment on your dry leather stuff!). and maybe he`s missed some small spots after the first coating.
so when applying the 2nd or the 3rd coating of wax you really make sure that every spot of the jacket is coated and wind- and waterproof in the end…

that would be my opinion 🙂

Ah, I thought it was the IH Deck Jacket when I saw your WAYWT, but then I didn't recall you posting your interest in that item. Looks great. And the cuff on your jeans has finally swayed me to take all my pants to a tailor to get hemmed.

the cuff. . . just so you know & to get way off track, i wear my devil's single cuffed, double standard injun cuffed, beatle stacked, just-rolled-out-of-bed-have-to-help-my-wife-get-some-stuff-up-the-stairs-mess-don't-take-a-picture-of me 😢

the secret is some times i wear them like a tax paying citizen on my waist & all that & other times i wear them like well you know.  they are hemmed to i think a 32 & just a versatile jean.  i do love the devil so much i have a pair of those 25s sitting waiting for me  😠

now back to mister freedom.  my deck jacket is from the second run & i like the lining on this one better than the initial run.  the buckles are painted flat black & are chipping to show some nice patina/wear 😉

if i could change one thing about it i would put the neck of the Iron Heart IHM-01Whipcord Deck Jacket on this cause the mf version just kind of flaps around & really doesn't provide any neck protection  😠

was at unionville stockholm today and had the chance to try on that stunning troy deck jacket…biggest size was a 42 which was fitting nice though I would have liked to try a 44 for comparison...

now I want one bad!... 😠

I did a hot soak for 30min to get some shrinkage out. Plenty of indigo in the tub, but still plenty dark on the jumper itself. Really loving this piece! I'll post fit measurements and photos once it's done drying.

                                Pre-Soak Measurements:
                                P2P: ~21.5"
                                Sleeves (Shoulder - Cuff): ~27"
                                Front Length: ~26.5"
                                Back Length: ~29"

The fit is perfect after the hot 30 min soak. A good amount of shrinkage, about 1.5 - 2" in the chest, 1" in the sleeves, 0.5" for the front length from the bottom of the collar, and 2" in length on the back. There was some definite indigo lost, and is noticeable when worn over my MF Midnight CPO below, but I'm sure it'll wear well! Wears great unbuttoned and buttoned as well.

                                  Pre-Soak Measurements:
                                  P2P: ~21.5 - 22"
                                  Sleeves (Shoulder - Cuff): ~27"
                                  Front Length: ~26.5"
                                  Back Length: ~29"

                                  Post-Soak Measurements:
                                  P2P: ~19.5 - 20"
                                  Sleeves (Shoulder - Cuff): ~26"
                                  Front Length: ~25"

Yeah I was surprised too, but it fits to what I expected it to be. I believe the jumper is 12.4oz. It's nice when layered with the CPO, and it kept me plenty warm. Bleeds A LOT.
