“This is a reproduction of the civilian model developed by MA-1 contractors for casual wear in the 1970s for the general market.
Numerous items were made commercially available by various suppliers
, utilizing their military-spec know-how. The existence of the black MA-1, which did not exist as a military item, is particularly significant in that it helped popularize flight jackets.
Taking into account the historical context, the reversible zipper has been specially ordered.
