We prefer the scenic route..

I haven't spent much time in Texas but one thing I remember was the wide, but still just two lane, highways.
You'd come up on a slower car, and they'd kinda move to the right, there was a wide shoulder, they'd keep their speed but let you pass.
Never encountered that anywhere else.
