      lol - quite right too

my Glasgow team bought the gaggia classic and now the smell of the coffee is luring other teams and offices down to that corner . . . good and bad to that I guess

the current fav seems to be the Kaanapali Single Estate - I think thats from Maui

single origin coffees are real good but idk if they're enough to warrant the price if you're not extracting via espresso…

totally, only one brew made - we're all espresso fiends . . . well a couple make up they're own brews, but they chip in - so they can drink it however they want  😉

I've just swapped my Gaggia Coffee for a Citiz Nesspresso pod machiene. I just can't be doing with the mess and time involved with the Gaggia. I'm acctually quite surprised how close in quality the Nesspresso coffee is to what comes out of the Gaggia, its not quite as good but darn close!

If anyone in the UK wants to make me an offer a well used but good Gaggia Coffee , PM me.

Glad to see a coffee thread!  I am a bit of a coffeegeek myself.  Here is a picture of my setup.  It is an Alex by Izzo MK1 and a Mazzer Super Jolly.  Right now I am using beans from Sterling Roasters here in Portland Oregon!  Old picture shows Stumptown Hairbender.

you have one expensive and sweet personal setup!

i wish i had money to drop on a la mazzorco custom…. use em at work, love em.
tbh sometimes i question why i work so hard to make good espresso when i love chemex pourover just as much...

I would absolutely love to find a La Marzocco Linea single group and rebuild it.  Also Synessos and Speedsters are beautiful machines… maybe one day.

Best coffee I ever had was in Paris. OMFG ! Pure ecstacy with every sip. Something that comes almost close (but not quite) to Paris is this place : Philz, based in San Francisco, CA but with other Bay Area locations :

Starbucks tastes like dishwater in comparison.

+1 on Philz - This is coffee at its finest….brewed one cup at a time with boatloads of different coffees to choose from

Looking to purchase a new French Press. Bodum are affordable and have been recommended. Any other suggestions?

Philz is awesome - some of the best coffee I've had ($10/cup, but their Jamaican Blue Mtn. is incredible. Their Mocha Tesora is my other favorite). Another good place in SF is Ritual. Saw this in an earlier post, but when in NYC Cafe Grumpy is a must (for coffee) and Gitane for a latte. This morning I used my chemex, which produces a super clean cup - highly recommend this method if you like a strong cup, but don't like the sludge that comes with a French press.

Bodum makes a good press and it's easy to get replacement parts if you need them. There are some other, more expensive brands, but I don't think the price is really justified.

I've had a one cup drip filter gizmo by Bodum that's been in use since 1998, superb product.  Can't remember the name of it though and they don't appear on the current Bodum site.

I also use a Bodum "Brazil" french press in the house, great piece of kit, can't fault it!

This is the model I have (I've got both the 34 and 51 oz.):

                                          Bodum French Press

Get which ever one you like the look of - the coffee should taste the same no matter the model.

For brewing tips check out Stumptown's brewing guide - may get you into trying different methods and acquiring various coffee brewers to do so:

Stumptown's beans are also super good (try their 'Hair Bender')…
