B, my Clarks are a US11 and my Roy Boots are a US11D. Go with the same size as I do… 11!

thanks lando, thats what i thought but i wasn't sure because i take a us size 10 in red wings.

Not to confuse you but I also take a US11D in RW…

I don't know if this is any help or not, but I found this site the other day that seems to have a detailed piece on how to measure your feet. It looks like it might be suitable for the Alden's:

hi guys,
i have been a long time lurker but this is my first post on here and i thought i would make it in the prestigious alden thread!
loving all the various discussions (and most importantly the pictures) so far but what i wanted to ask is this; for all you guys who are from the uk or europe and own aldens, is there a preferred store or method for acquiring them? eg, what is the cheapest and most reliable place to buy from?
do i order from the us and hope the tax man goes easy on me, or do i buy from the bureau and pay over the odds? without tax a pair from blackbird saves me over £80.
sorry if this has been discussed before but any help anyone can offer will be great,
many thanks

Nice to have you with us.
I live in the UK and have ordered Aldens from LSH, Shoemart & J Gilbert in the US.
I had the boots from LSH shipped to my home address in the UK and got charged tax, the amount of tax you pay depends on the amount the shipper puts on the customs decleration but less value on the decleration means less compensation if the parcel goes missing.
I now have access to a US PO Box in the UK which makes things cheaper.
PM me with what you are looking for and I'll see if I can help you out, just make sure on your Alden sizing.

hi TT, thanks for you reply and your offer of help, most generous.
so far i am trying to take in all the possibilities that are open to me regarding the brand. obviously i like the various versions of the indy, but i am also quite attracted to some of the newer chukka styles they are now producing. oh, and some of the brogues!
do you have to pay to tax on things sent to a us post box? i only ask as i have some friends who are in the military and here on us air bases, so maybe i could speak to them? i hadnt thought about that before actually!!
hopefully i will get what i want sorted soon and then perhaps i will come back to you for some assistance then.
many thanks

Hey Percy
No tax to a US PO Box in the UK as it doesn't go through the UK postal system and flat rate US shipping.
My access to a US box is by having friends in the US Army over here as well, sweet !

Beats, you have the Kudu Ultimate Indy correct? Any chance I could see some flicks of their evo? Thanks!
-
Never mind, I thought you had these…
-
Yeah, I just wanted to see what these looked like after a while. Not that I can afford them or even want them but they look great! Love yours as well. So many nice things out there!
-
A nice resource for Aldens if that is what you are into…

Wow, that's a wicked blog. I am going to spend a lot of time looking and drooling at those pictures! The author is an active participant on SF on the Alden thread!

Thanks Lando, like I need any more Alden encouragement
